Winx Club: Revenge of the Black Circle — The Blood-Moon Duelist & The Phantom Knight’s Descent

The static hummed low, vibrating through the cold floorboards of the hideout as the red light on the VCR flickered to life. Outside, the phantom echo of sleigh bells died away, leaving only the biting winter draft that crept under the door frames.
Bloom pressed her hand against the edge of the television set, her dragon flame flaring faintly behind her eyes to push back the encroaching chill. "The Christmas Knight snapped his red reins and disappeared," she said, her voice tight as she turned back to face the assembled group. "A bitter chill creeped over the room... We have to figure this out."
Laid out on the central table between them sat the contents of the newly delivered package: a pristine set of metallic Star Chips, a heavy leather Duel Glove, and a dark, unlabelled VHS tape.
Yugi Muto leaned over the table, his fingers lightly brushing the golden trim of the star chips. "Pegasus doesn't send physical artifacts on a whim," Yugi murmured, his brow furrowed as the Millennium Puzzle gleamed against his chest. "Not after all these years. If he reached out through physical media, it means whatever he recorded couldn't be trusted to digital networks."
Beside him, the scarred, battle-hardened form of the Svall Scarface stood folded-armed in the shadows, eyes fixed entirely on the unspooling tape. "Then stop staring at the metal and play the tape," Scarface grunted, his voice like grinding stones. "If Pegasus left a map, we take it."
Bloom stepped forward and slotted the cassette into the deck. The machine swallowed it with a heavy mechanical click. High-voltage static tore across the CRT monitor before settling into the sharp, extravagant image of Maximilian Pegasus sitting in a high-backed velvet chair, a glass of wine held loosely in one hand and his Millennium Eye hidden beneath silver hair.
"Greetings, my brave duelists... and fair guardians of Alfea," Pegasus's voice echoed through the speaker, smooth yet laced with an uncharacteristic gravity. "If you are watching this, the barrier has already fractured. The package you hold contains the keys to an era long forgotten by the modern world. You are about to learn the history of the Hunters of the Black Circle."
The picture warped, transitioning into grainy, ancient archival footage—illustrations of Earth as it existed millennia ago.
"Their story begins in the human world on Earth," Pegasus's recorded voice continued as imagery of lush, primeval landscapes filled the screen. "Back then, the planet's magic was held entirely in the fairies' hands. They would dispense that primal energy through the core elements—Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire—maintaining balance across the realm."
The footage shifted sharply to dark, jagged silhouetted figures descending upon a glowing sanctuary.
"But that balance ended when four men arrived: Ogron, Anagan, Gantlos, and Duman... the Wizards of the Black Circle. Their goal was absolute—to rule the world by controlling nature's pure energy. They spent decades studying the ancient ley lines and created a dark spell that made them completely immune to fairies' magic. With that immunity, they hunted. They stole their wings, locked away the Earth Fairies, and drained them for their power until Earth was stripped of its magic entirely."
The video feed glitched, returning to Pegasus's face, his expression cold and deadly serious.
"They thought they had erased every trace of that dark campaign, but the relic you hold—that glove, those chips—were forged from the original ground zero where the Black Circle cast their binding spell. Why send a VHS tape all these years later? Because digital signals can be traced by Ogron’s dark sensory magic. Physical magnetic tape carries the residual energy of the realm before the fall."
Pegasus leaned toward the camera lens. "The Star Chips act as locking mechanisms for the ancient elemental gates hidden across Earth. The glove will allow you to channel nature's raw energy without being drained by the Circle's immunity spell. The time to strike back is now, before they realize the last spark of Earth's magic has awakened."
The screen snapped to bright blue noise, then cut to pitch black.
The room fell dead silent save for the whirring of the rewind cycle inside the VCR.
Bloom looked up from the monitor, her hands clenching into fists as a warm, blazing aura erupted around her. "Immune to fairy magic or not... they aren't taking this world again."
Yugi reached down, picking up the Duel Glove and strapping it firmly to his forearm. "Then we don't just use magic," he said, looking over at Scarface and the rest of the Winx Club. "We use every tool we have. Let's find those gates."
