Surrounded by water, cloaked in fog, and forgotten by time, the Isle of Tsukigane was a place where peace had calcified into silence. The villagers called it paradise. But to Kaien, it was a cage.

He had always felt the pull of something beyond—the shimmer in the tide, the hum in the stones, the whisper in dreams. And when he found the medallion buried beneath the shrine’s altar, he knew it was no myth. Twin dragons curled around its surface—one of fire, one of wind. The Guardians of the Kingdom. Symbols of balance. Of protection.

“I guess we never see them,” Kaien said to his closest friend, Mika, “’cause it’s so peaceful… at least for now.”

But peace is a fragile illusion.

That night, under a comet-streaked sky, Kaien activated the medallion. The canal split open like a wound, revealing a portal of swirling light. He stepped through—and vanished.

He awoke in a realm of fractured moons and floating ruins. A place between worlds. And standing before him, wrapped in spectral flame, was a warrior with a blade forged from sorrow.

“I’ve been dying to fight you,” the ghost said, voice echoing like thunder, “since the moment you stepped foot in this place.”

It was the ghost of the legendary samurai—Raiken the Unyielding. His soul bound to the realm, waiting for the one who would awaken the dragons.

Kaien fought with everything he had. And as the dragons stirred in the medallion, the veil between worlds began to tear.

But back on the island, Mika stood alone at the shrine, staring at the empty altar. She had trusted him. Believed in him. Loved him.

And then came the message—etched into the stone by Kaien’s own hand.

> “It appears that you will be the last one to know.  

> Sorry I had to deceive you… the person closest to me.”

Her heart shattered. But her resolve hardened.

Because if Kaien had crossed into other worlds… she would follow.
