🦉 The Parliament of Owls and the Lost Prince

And this, my dear humans, is an emergency meeting of the Great Parliament of Owls. Beneath the moonlit canopy of the Whispering Woods, where the trees lean in like gossiping old friends and the stars blink with ancient secrets, the owls gathered—each perched upon a gnarled branch of the Elder Tree, their eyes gleaming with wisdom and worry.

High Chancellor Nocturnius fluffed his feathers and addressed the assembly.

“The world teeters on the edge of unraveling. If Lord Regiant Trumpkin the Dwarf hears you mean to search for the Lost Prince, he’ll have you under lock and key before your boots hit the moss. He fears what the prince’s return might awaken.”

A murmur rippled through the branches. The owls knew Trumpkin’s paranoia had grown since the Eclipse War. He’d fortified the Ironwood Citadel, banned all mention of the royal bloodline, and imprisoned those who dared whisper of prophecy.

“But look at you,” Nocturnius continued, voice sharp as talon. “Leaving the hero all alone, while you hog the villain to yourselves. The boy—yes, the boy—wanders the ruins of Eldermar with nothing but a broken sword and a half-remembered lullaby. And you expect him to face the Shadowborn alone?”

A younger owl, Emberquill, fluttered nervously. “We thought it safer. The villain is known. The prince is... a myth.”

Nocturnius’s eyes narrowed. “Those who are out to destroy the world may still be out there, lurking in the shadows. Just because we do not see them does not mean they sleep. The Lost Prince is real. And he is the key.”

From the farthest branch, a voice croaked—ancient and brittle. It was Sage Holloweye, the oldest of them all.

“Prophecy speaks not of safety, but of sacrifice. The hero must not be abandoned. Nor the villain underestimated. The prince must be found before the next blood moon, or all shall be devoured by the Hollowing.”

A hush fell. Even the wind seemed to pause.

And so, the Parliament voted. Not for silence. Not for safety. But for action.

Three owls would fly—one to distract Trumpkin with riddles and rumors, one to guide the hero through the haunted marshes, and one to seek the prince in the forgotten city of glass.

The world was shifting. The shadows stirring. And somewhere, in a crumbling tower wrapped in vines and memory, the Lost Prince dreamed of fire and feathers.
