“They say it’s an ominous sign if a crow flies over your head at night,” murmured Kael, the youngest of the group, as a shadow passed above. The others froze. The crow’s cry echoed like a warning bell.

But this wasn’t just any forest. It was The Hollow Grove, a place that didn’t exist on any map. A place that shouldn’t exist at all.

“Pegasus… Pegasus…” The voice came in my dreams, soft and eerie, like wind through broken glass. I woke to find the forest unchanged. Peaceful, almost. But peace is a mask. Beneath it, I felt chaos stirring.

The trees leaned closer. The moon blinked. And the crow returned.

Everyone here is mad.

Not angry—mad. Like tea parties with invisible guests. Like knights who duel shadows. Like witches who speak in riddles and laugh at nothing.

If I were looking for a white rabbit, I’d ask the Mad Hatter.

But I’m not looking for a rabbit.

I’m looking for a way out.

Kael touched the bark of a tree and it pulsed with light. “The eighth test isn’t a battle,” he whispered. “It’s a question.”

“What question?” I asked.

He turned, eyes glowing faintly. “Are you real?”

The forest twisted. The book in my hand melted into mist. Pegasus galloped across the sky, wings trailing stardust. The crow cawed once more and vanished.

Everyone is mad here.

I am not all there myself.

But maybe that’s the point.

To pass the final test, you 

must lose yourself.

Only then can you find the truth.
