The Blue Wolf of the North
There’s one more possibility.
Did it look anything like this?
A creature cloaked in frost and silence, fur shimmering like moonlight on ice—yes, it was a blue wolf. Not much is known about it, not even its name. But legends whisper that it personifies the North itself, born from the breath of winter winds and the stillness of frozen lakes. They say it has the power to purify tainted waters, to cleanse corruption with a single howl that echoes through the soul.
We saw it just beyond the gate.
That cursed gate—where we entered and were immediately engulfed by poison smoke. The air turned thick, acidic, clawing at our lungs. Makubex knew we were coming. Somehow, he always knows. But how? Maybe he’s deeper in the labyrinth than we thought. Maybe he’s watching us through the eyes of the ghosts.
Spill it, low life. Where is he?
I was just thinking that everywhere the ghost appears, it faces the inner garden. Always the same direction. Always the same silence. What does that mean?
The garden is said to be the heart of the fortress. A place untouched by decay, where the blue wolf once stood guard. If the ghosts are drawn to it, perhaps they remember something we don’t. Perhaps Makubex is hiding there, beneath the roots of the ancient tree, feeding off the poison, twisting it into power.
We must go deeper.
The wolf appeared again last night, standing atop the ridge, eyes glowing like twin stars. It didn’t attack. It watched. And then it turned toward the garden.
There’s one more possibility.
Makubex isn’t just
hiding.
He’s waiting.
