🌲 The War for Parts: A Tale of the Eight Kings 🌲

It all began with a simple C-rank mission.

Escort the heir to the Waterfall Kingdom home safely. No bandits, no monsters, no political entanglements—just a quiet journey through the western passes. The sun was shining bright, the air crisp with autumn’s breath. We made it without a hitch. Mission accomplished.

Or so we thought.

The heir, a quiet boy named Kael, carried more than royal blood. Hidden beneath his cloak was a relic—an ancient shard of the Verdant Crown, one of the eight legendary magical items forged in the Age of Kings. In those ancient times, rulers waged war not with armies, but with enchanted artifacts, each imbued with elemental power. Fire, water, wind, earth, light, shadow, time, and spirit. The war for supremacy was called The War for Parts, and it never truly ended.

Kael’s shard pulsed with green light, resonating with the forest around us. He confessed it had awakened recently, calling to something far to the west. A place high in the mountains, where no human dared tread—the Grove of the Spirit, home to the Forest Guardian. To enter was certain death.

But Kael insisted. “It’s not just calling me,” he said, eyes wide with something ancient. “It’s remembering me.”

We should’ve turned back. But curiosity, duty, and something deeper—destiny, perhaps—pulled us forward.

The forest grew denser, the trees older. Moss-covered ruins whispered of forgotten battles. We passed stone altars etched with the sigils of the Eight Kings. The air shimmered with magic. Time felt... wrong.

Then came the trials.

First, the Trial of Roots—a maze of living vines that tested our resolve. Then the Trial of Echoes, where illusions of our past regrets tried to break our minds. Kael faced his father’s death, I faced my betrayal of a comrade. Only truth could guide us through.

Finally, we reached the Grove.

The Forest Guardian emerged—not beast, not man, but a towering figure of bark and light, crowned with antlers of crystal. It spoke in a voice like wind through leaves.

“You carry the Crown’s memory. But memory alone is not enough.”

Kael stepped forward, and the shard floated from his hand. The Guardian touched it, and the forest trembled. Visions flooded our minds—eight thrones, eight kings, eight wars. And one prophecy:

> “When the shards awaken, so too shall the war. Only one may unite them. Only one may end it.”

The Guardian gave Kael a seed. “Plant this in the heart of your kingdom. It will grow into a tree that remembers. But beware—the other heirs will come. And not all seek peace.”

We returned to the Waterfall Kingdom changed. The mission was complete, yes—but the true journey had only begun.

The War for Parts was stirring once more.
