🐾 Eyes Like a Cat — A Tale of Destiny and Vengeance

The moon hung low over the shattered spires of Eldrath, casting silver light upon the ruins of a once-proud kingdom. Smoke curled from the remnants of the citadel, where the final battle had left scars deeper than stone.

I stood at the edge of the throne room, my blade dripping with the blood of those who dared defy me. Destiny can be quite ironic. I never imagined that my enemy—the one who had haunted my dreams, who had stolen everything from me—would be the King's son.

Prince Kael.

He had worn no crown, only a cloak of shadows and a gaze that pierced through me like frost. “You were always too blind to see,” he had whispered before our blades clashed. “This kingdom was never yours to save.”

But I had never come to save it.

“I will purge this kingdom of all who oppose me,” I had declared, my voice echoing through the marble halls. “Monster and human alike. Let the gods weep for what I do tonight.”

And then—he appeared again.

The boy with the yellow eyes.

“You,” I hissed, stepping back. “It’s you again. What do you want from me?”

He said nothing. Just watched. Always watching.

Those eyes… eyes like a cat. Slitted, golden, ancient. They shimmered with something beyond comprehension—judgment, perhaps. Or pity.

“Are you a friend or not?” I demanded, my voice cracking under the weight of blood and memory. “Speak!”

Still, silence.

I remembered the first time I saw him—among the ruins of my village, when the fires had just died and the screams still echoed. He had stood there, untouched by flame, his eyes glowing in the dark. Watching.

Always watching.

“Are you watching me with those yellow eyes?” I whispered now, my sword trembling. “Do you see what I’ve become?”

The boy tilted his head. A faint smile curled at the edge of his lips. Not cruel. Not kind. Just… inevitable.

And then he vanished.

Leaving me alone with the throne, the corpses, and the truth.

Destiny had played its hand. And I had become the very monster I swore to destroy.
