Heart's Shadows, Brawl on Saturday Morning, and Darkness's Stain Heavy Metal Type Beat

The neon signs of the city flickered, casting long, distorted shadows across the alleyway where Yusuke stood, his knuckles bruised and his breathing heavy.

Paul leaned against a brick wall, crossing his arms. "This sounds like a typical Saturday morning street fight, huh?" He let out a dry, cynical laugh. "But you’ve got that look in your eyes again. I have a bad feeling about this, Yusuke. Like someone followed us here somehow."

Yusuke didn't answer immediately. He stared at his hands, which were trembling—not from the fight, but from a coldness that seemed to radiate from his very soul.

The Revelation

A figure stepped out from the gloom. It was Hei, his face etched with a gravity that stopped Paul’s snarky follow-up mid-breath. Behind him, Ash stood silent, his usual fiery determination replaced by a hollow exhaustion.

"I guess it's time you knew the truth," Hei began, his voice barely a whisper. "The reason Yusuke couldn't go near the Spirit World all these years... he wasn't just 'exiled' or 'retired.' He was cursed by an Ultra Beast."

Paul’s eyes widened. "A what? Is that why you guys have been acting like he's made of glass?"

"I was so scared," Ash admitted, stepping forward. "Hei and I could do nothing about it. Every time Yusuke gets close to a spiritual gate, the curse feeds. It tears at the barrier between his world and the Void. If he crosses over, he doesn't just die—he becomes a doorway for things that shouldn't exist."

The Bitter Tour

Yusuke finally looked up. His eyes weren't the eyes of the street brawler they knew. They were older, colder.

"So," Paul said, trying to regain his footing, "how was the tour? You’ve been trekking across the globe for months. Find what you were looking for?"

"I learned the reason for my quest," Yusuke said. He gestured to the crowded street beyond the alley, where people laughed and hurried to dinner. "All around the world, people seem to live peacefully. They smile, they work, they love. But it’s all an act."

He stepped into the light of a buzzing streetlamp.

"Darkness lurks in their hearts. They aren't the monsters we're used to fighting, Paul. They are but sheep pretending to be wolves, hiding their cruelty behind a thin veil of civilization. The Ultra Beast didn't just curse my body—it showed me the truth of what we’re actually protecting."

A New Shadow

The air in the alley suddenly dropped twenty degrees. A rift, jagged and white like broken glass, began to spiderweb in the air behind them.

"They followed us," Hei hissed, drawing his blade. "The sheep are starting to shed their skins."

Yusuke didn't run. He took a fighting stance, the faint, violet glow of the curse beginning to pulse beneath the skin of his throat. "Good. I'm tired of the acting."
