Lord Tenchi, The Ancient Ruins, and the Mysterious Black Angel Brit Pop Type Beat (Intro)

I think I was afraid of him.

Not because of what I sensed, but because of what I didn’t.

When we met, it was as though the air around him had been hollowed out, stripped of the ordinary textures of presence. No warmth, no weight, no tether to the world. It was like staring at a reflection that had forgotten the body it belonged to. And in that emptiness, I remembered the witch—the one who had attacked the shrine, her laughter like broken glass. For a moment, I thought it was her again, wearing another mask.

But then he spoke.

"Those who crave true power must seek the darkness… but move past it."

The words hung like smoke, curling into meanings I couldn’t catch. Was it a warning? A riddle? Or just another curve ball tossed by someone who thrived on confusion? He seemed to enjoy the way uncertainty gnawed at me, as if my fear was part of the ritual.

I wanted to ask him what he meant, but the silence between us was heavier than any answer could be. Perhaps the darkness he spoke of wasn’t the witch, or the shrine, or even the shadows that clung to his form. Perhaps it was the hunger itself—the temptation to wield power without restraint. To step into the abyss and let it consume you.

And yet, he said move past it.

Maybe that was the cruelest part of his lesson: that the abyss was not the destination, only the trial. That true strength lay not in embracing the void, but in surviving it without becoming hollow yourself.

Still, I couldn’t shake the thought that it didn’t matter in the end. Whether his words were wisdom or trickery, whether he was man or mask, whether the shrine still stood or had already fallen—what difference did it make? The witch had already shown me how fragile sanctity was. And he, with his curve-ball riddles, only reminded me that power was never what it seemed.

So I stood there, afraid not of him, but of the absence he carried. Afraid that one day, I too might wear that emptiness, and someone else would look at me and wonder if I was real.
