​I didn't turn. I knew that stoic, grave voice anywhere. It was Ishizu.

​"I still sense something terrible is about to unfold," I whispered. "We had sealed the Evil One for all time. We buried the darker scriptures beneath the sands of Egypt and made sure none could approach the chamber. But the chamber isn't in Egypt anymore, is it?"

​Ishizu stepped into the light, her eyes narrowing as she looked at me. "You shouldn't be here. You are a civilian now."

​"The wind told me to come."

​She walked past me, looking down at the tournament brackets displayed on a digital screen below. One face was highlighted—a young man with spiky hair, a stranger to this dimension, a wild card named Tenchi Muyo.

​Ishizu turned on me, her demeanor shifting from calm to interrogative. She repeated the questions that had clearly been haunting her.

​"What does this vision mean? What do you know about the mark on Tenchi Muyo's palm? I know you overheard that organization talking about their plans, so why are you back?"

​I took a deep breath, the cold air stinging my lungs.

​"The vision isn't a prophecy, Ishizu. It's a receipt," I said grimly. "The mark on Tenchi’s palm... it isn't a Duelist's glove or a cosmetic. It’s a receiver."

​I pointed toward the dense forest surrounding the arena. "I was in Domino City, in the alleys where the Rare Hunters used to operate. There is a new syndicate. They call themselves the Obsidian Hand. They aren't trying to resurrect the Pharaoh or Zorc. They are trying to resurrect the Game Master."

​Ishizu’s eyes widened. "Pegasus? But he is dead. His soul has moved on."

​"Not the man," I corrected. "The Toon World. The twisted dimension he created with the Eye. It didn't vanish when he died. It became a vacuum, a hungry void without a host. The Evil One we sealed? It wasn't a god. It was the corrupted energy of the Shadow Realm itself, looking for a door."

​I looked down at the image of Tenchi Muyo.

​"Tenchi isn't from here. His energy signature is different—alien, potent. The Obsidian Hand marked him. They grafted a glyph onto his palm that acts as a beacon. When he duels, when his emotions peak... he won't just summon a monster."

​The wind howled again, screaming the name. Pegasus... Pegasus...

​"He’s going to open the door," I finished. "They are using Tenchi Muyo as a living key to drag the Shadow Realm back onto this island. That is why I am back. I have no magic, Ishizu. But I know the codes. I know the override sequences Pegasus hid in the castle's mainframe before he died."

​Suddenly, a pillar of purple light erupted from the forest below. A duel had started.

​"And if we don't get to Tenchi before he plays his Ace card," I warned, turning to run toward the blast, "he won't just lose the game. He's going to lose his soul to the void
