Mysteries of Time Ripple, Hearts Encased in Ice, and the Hand of Destiny! Hard Rock Type Beat
The great crystalline cavern hummed with a low, oppressive stillness. It had been hours since the last sign of their allies—the legendary, freezing trio—and the silence was beginning to fray the nerves of the two entities waiting within.
"So, our icy friends haven't come back yet," stated Aura, the being of swirling amethyst light, her voice a concentrated whisper in the vast space.
"It's been quiet, but not for much longer, I am afraid," replied Guardian, the ancient, rocky sentinel. His immense form was settled, yet his emerald eyes pulsed with restless energy.
Aura paced the floor, leaving trails of light that instantly dissipated. "I don't sense anything, but I have an uneasy feeling I can't explain why. It almost seems like time has stopped." She hugged herself, the sensation of temporal stillness a physical chill.
Guardian offered a grave, low rumble. "If we are the only ones capable of taking this guy down, he must be very good. The Time Weaver is a master of illusion and distortion."
"It's just like it with the stars," Aura mused, staring up at the stone ceiling as if it were the night sky. "There are bright ones, burning with undeniable power, and there are those that are dim. The dim ones are often the most dangerous; you don't know they are there until they've eclipsed everything else."
Aura turned suddenly, her eyes blazing with resolution. "I want to hear about it. All of it, Guardian. I need to know the full scope of this threat before we step out there."
As Guardian began to speak, the air tore. Not with a sound, but with a scent—the delicate, temporal scent of freshly bloomed flowers.
"Celebi's presence is confirmed," Aura declared instantly, feeling the signature of the Time Traveller bloom and then rapidly fade. "The time ripple must be in Crown City."
Guardian nodded slowly, his gaze distant. "He has done his part. The location is confirmed, the specific tear identified."
Aura’s shimmering light wavered, however. "Wait. That's not what's bothering me. It wasn't what I sensed, though, Guardian. It was what I didn't sense."
She stopped pacing, her form stilling completely. "Earlier, when the Weaver first passed through this region to lay his trap, I thought I caught a glimpse of his physical form—a shadow, a flicker of something vast and imposing, shrouded in static."
She clenched her fists, the amethyst light briefly sparking. "Like who I saw wasn't the real thing. It was too simple, too flat. A mere projection, a puppet intended to be observed and tracked. He was advertising his location while concealing his true presence."
Guardian’s emerald eyes narrowed into slits of intense focus. "A decoy. The Weaver used a temporal echo of himself to lure the Time Traveller into revealing the target location, knowing that if we followed the decoy, he would have time to complete his work in Crown City undetected."
A new, cold wave of understanding washed over them. The enemy was not just powerful; he was a strategic genius, using his own perceived presence as bait. The silence, the uneasy feeling, the sense of 'time stopping'—it was all a sophisticated stage set for their inevitable pursuit of a ghost.
"The real Weaver is already there," Aura concluded, her voice now hard and determined. "We waste no more time on decoys."
The path to Crown City is long and requires traversing several time-warped zones. Which temporal zone should Aura and Guardian enter first: The Epoch of Whispers (a zone of profound historical confusion) or the Echoing Canyons (a zone where future and past actions overlap)?
