Prophecy Books, Eco Warrior of Darkness, and Wing Zero Hard Rock Type Beat
The cockpit of the Wing Zero was bathed in the rhythmic, terrifying pulsing of red emergency lights. Outside the panoramic monitor, the impossible was happening.
The sky wasn't space, and it wasn't Earth. It was a swirling violet void, and hanging in the center of it was the massive, stone structure of the Gate of Judgement. It stood as the barrier between the living world and the chaotic depths of the afterlife, but right now, it was failing.
A jagged fissure, glowing with malevolent white light, tore down the center of the doors.
The Breach
"Botan, talk to me!" I shouted, my hands flying across the control console, trying to stabilize the Gundam’s sensors. "The energy readings are off the charts. What happened to the Spirit World?"
Static hissed through the comms, followed by a voice trembling with uncharacteristic panic.
"It’s the Flood!" Botan cried out, her voice overlapping with the sound of crumbling masonry. "The negativity from the Human World... it became too much! The levees of the Sanzu River burst. The Spirit World is drowning in miasma, and the pressure has cracked the Gate! If it opens fully, the Apparitions will spill into your reality!"
"Where do I go?" I demanded, firing the thrusters to dodge a falling chunk of spirit-stone debris.
"The Shrine!" Botan ordered. "Koenma says the convergence point is the Genkai Shrine. You have to find Yusuke Urameshi and... and that masked man, Zechs Merquise! They’re holding the line, but they can’t do it alone!"
The Sortie
I engaged the Twin Buster Rifles. The Wing Zero’s angelic wings expanded, feathers of metal and ceramic shedding into the void as the thrusters roared.
"Roger that. Heading to the Shrine."
As I descended through the fractured atmosphere, the "Flood" became visible. It wasn't water; it was a torrent of dark, screaming souls and lesser demons. From the murk, the Apparitions rose—grotesque, multi-limbed shadows with eyes like burning coals. They weren't mobile suits, but they moved with supernatural speed, challenging the laws of physics.
"Target confirmed," I whispered.
The Apparitions swarmed, screeching a sound that vibrated the very frame of the Gundam. They were challenging us—challenging the Hero and I.
I pulled the trigger. Twin beams of devastating energy tore through the darkness, vaporizing a hundred demons in a heartbeat, but a thousand more took their place. The ZERO System flashed rapidly in my mind, feeding me tactical data, predicting the enemy's movements, forcing the future into my brain.
But the data was erratic. The system couldn't calculate magic. It couldn't calculate spirit energy. The interface began to hallucinate, showing me visions of my own death.
The Ghost in the Machine
My hand gripped the throttle until my knuckles turned white. The machine felt alien today. Cold. Predatory.
"Are you an enemy, Zero?" I asked the interface.
The screen flickered. <INSUFFICIENT DATA. SURVIVAL PROBABILITY: 0.00%>
"I don't accept zero percent," I growled. I overrode the safety limiters. The Wing Zero screamed in mechanical protest, twisting in mid-air to slash a massive, serpent-like Apparition in half with a beam saber.
Through the smoke, I saw the Shrine. It was surrounded by a glowing blue barrier—Spirit Energy. On the steps, two figures stood back-to-back. One was clad in a green school uniform, firing blasts of blue energy from his fingertip—Yusuke. The other wore a white mask and a crimson military uniform, wielding a beam sword with elegant precision—Zechs.
The Prophecy
I banked the Gundam, landing heavily in front of the shrine, acting as a shield against the oncoming horde.
"Zechs!" I broadcasted over the external speakers. "Botan sent me! What is the status?"
Zechs looked up at the giant steel angel. "You're late. The files are encrypted. The mainframe beneath the shrine... it holds the Books of Prophecies."
"Prophecies?"
"The archives that explain everything," Yusuke shouted, blasting a demon out of the sky. "Why the worlds are merging, how to stop the Flood, and who actually broke the Gate! But Koenma's most important files are locked!"
I linked the Wing Zero’s computer to the Shrine’s terminal remotely.
"I’m attempting a bypass," I said, my eyes darting between the hacking progress bar and the approaching wave of high-level S-Class Apparitions. "Zero might be able to crack the encryption, but we have to buy time."
The crack in the Gate of Judgement above us widened with a thunderous crack. The floodwaters were rising.
"Hold them off," I commanded, the ZERO System flooding my mind with pure tactical adrenaline. "I’ll unlock the truth."
