The year is 198X. Neon lights bathed the bustling Tokyo streets, but a strange energy rippled beneath the surface. Suddenly, a shimmering portal tore open above the city, spilling out not rain, but heroes. Yusuke Urameshi, ever the delinquent, landed with a scowl, his spirit gun already crackling. Yugi Muto, clutching his Millennium Puzzle, looked around with wide, serious eyes. Ash Ketchum, Pikachu perched on his shoulder, instinctively reached for a Poké Ball. And then, with a flash of light, Usagi Tsukino, Sailor Moon herself, materialized, followed by the Saiyan princes, Vegeta and Goku, both looking utterly bewildered.

​They weren't in Tokyo anymore. They were in Meridian, a kingdom straight out of a forgotten fairy tale, but one plunged into a nightmare. Dark clouds perpetually shrouded the sky, and the once-proud castle now stood as a grim silhouette against a blood-red moon. Prince Phobos, a figure of icy malevolence, floated before them, a sneer twisting his regal features. "Welcome, interlopers," his voice echoed, "to your final battle!"

​Before Phobos could finish his taunt, a horde of grotesque goblins, wielding crude but sharp weapons, swarmed from the shadows. "Pikachu, Thunderbolt!" Ash commanded, and a blinding jolt of electricity arced through the ranks of the green-skinned monsters. Yusuke, with a smirk, unleashed a barrage of Spirit Gun blasts, each one tearing through multiple foes. Yugi, in a moment of desperate inspiration, raised his Millennium Puzzle. "I activate the magic card, 'Mystical Space Typhoon'!" he declared, and a swirling vortex of wind swept many goblins away.

​But the goblins were just a distraction. From the darkened towers of the castle, leathery wings beat the air, and two massive dragons, scales like obsidian and rubies, descended with roars that shook the very ground. Goku, ever the eager warrior, grinned. "Alright, Vegeta, let's show 'em what Saiyans can do!" With a yell, both powered up, their auras flaring gold and blue, sending shockwaves through the air. Goku met the red dragon head-on, a Kamehameha wave colliding with its fiery breath, while Vegeta, with a furious Final Flash, vaporized chunks of the black dragon's armored hide.

​Meanwhile, shadowy apparitions, wailing and ethereal, began to phase through the remaining goblins, their ghostly forms reaching for the heroes. Usagi, seeing the terror in the eyes of some of the weaker goblins (and even a bit in Ash's), transformed. "Moon Tiara Magic!" she cried, her tiara spinning into a shimmering disc that dispersed several of the spectral foes.

​Prince Phobos, enraged by their resilience, began to channel dark energy, summoning a massive, swirling vortex of pure malevolence. "You cannot defeat the power of Meridian!" he shrieked. But he underestimated the combined might of these unlikely champions.

​Yusuke, his Spirit Gun glowing brighter than ever, charged forward. "Time to send you back to whatever hellhole you crawled out of!" Yugi, seeing an opening, drew another card. "I summon the Dark Magician!" he declared, and the powerful spellcaster appeared, launching a devastating attack at Phobos. Ash, refusing to be outdone, had Pikachu unleash a continuous stream of electricity, creating a protective barrier around them.

​As Goku and Vegeta finally brought down their respective dragons in twin explosions of light and dust, they turned their attention to Phobos. "He's all yours, Moon Princess!" Goku yelled, giving Usagi a thumbs-up.

​Usagi, fueled by the hope of the land, focused her power. "Moon Princess Halation!" she declared, her wand glowing with an intense, pure light. The beam of energy struck Phobos head-on, overwhelming his dark magic. The Prince screamed, his form flickering and dissolving into nothingness, leaving only echoes of his malevolence.

​As the dark clouds receded, and the sun, for the first time in ages, pierced through to illuminate Meridian, the heroes found themselves bathed in warm light. A grateful populace emerged from hiding, cheering their saviors. A new portal opened, ready to take them back to their own worlds.

​"That was… intense," Ash said, adjusting his cap.

​"Indeed," Yugi agreed, putting away his deck.

​Yusuke just grinned. "Same time next apocalypse?"

​Vegeta scoffed, "As if I'd ever team up with these weaklings again." Goku, however, just laughed, "You know you secretly loved it, Vegeta!" Usagi, with a shy smile, waved goodbye to the grateful citizens of Meridian. As they stepped back through the portal, the legend of the unlikely heroes who saved Meridian would be whispered for generations, a testament to courage, friendship, and the enduring power of 80s anime.

  the concept of this album is inspired by a joe rogan podcast i was listening to with my brother, where there was a part where he was talk about how we don't do big trials for "right of passage" into manhood anymore. which for some reason it never occurred to me before but eventually inspired this album idea which the title is from a line from the movie Ernest goes to camp.. the idea of the album.
