The Black Angel: Kingdom War – Descent into Darkness. Hard Rock Type Beat

The rain slicked the neon-lit streets of Mushiyori City, casting distorted reflections of the mismatched group standing in the alleyway.

Yusuke Urameshi wiped a mix of grime and rainwater from his forehead, his jaw set in that familiar, stubborn line. Beside him, Cloud Strife leaned against a rusted dumpster, his hand never straying far from the hilt of the Buster Sword. Haru Glory and Musica stood back-to-back, eyes scanning the shadows for a threat that felt less like a physical presence and more like a cold draft on the soul.

“If King was all about the fastball,” Yusuke muttered, glancing at Genkai, “this guy definitely likes the curve.”

The Warning

Genkai didn't look at him. Her eyes were fixed on a figure stepping out of the fog—a figure that looked disturbingly like Yusuke, but with eyes that held the void of a thousand dead stars.

“I sensed it the moment we met,” Yusuke continued, his voice dropping an octave. “There’s something dangerous about him. But it’s not what I sensed, Genkai. It’s what I didn’t sense. Like who I saw wasn't the real thing.”

The doppelgänger stopped ten paces away. A cruel, familiar smirk twisted its face.

"I heard that you have been looking for me," the Shadow spoke, its voice a perfect, hollow echo of Yusuke’s. "Yeah... once I defeat you, the darkness will go away. Or so you tell yourself."

The Mirror of the Past

Cloud shifted, his Mako-eyes glowing faintly. He knew this game. He’d lived it in the crater, in the memories of a life that wasn't his.

"Can you do it?" the Shadow taunted, its gaze drifting to Haru and Musica. "Do you think you can abandon your past? That darkness comes from your own memories, Yusuke. You turn your back on the present and live in the past because the light of the present is too much to bear."

The Shadow took a step forward, the ground beneath its feet turning to ash.

"I know... because I am you."

The Pattern

Musica gripped his silver manipulation tool, his knuckles white. "He’s not just talking trash, Yusuke. Look at the reports. All the victims lately... every single one of them. Men with black hair. He isn't just haunting you; he's erasing you from the world, one lookalike at a time."

Haru raised the Decaforce Sword, the blade humming with the power of Rave. "He’s targeting you because you’re the anchor. If the 'real' you flinches, the past swallows everything else."

Yusuke stepped forward, his finger curling into a fist as Spirit Energy began to flicker like a dying lightbulb before roaring into a steady, brilliant blue flame.

"I’ve spent a lot of time running from who I was," Yusuke said, a sharp, genuine grin finally breaking through. "And yeah, the light of the present is pretty damn bright. It’s blinding. But that’s the point of a Spirit Gun—you don't need to see the whole world. You just need to see the target."

The Stand

The Shadow lunged, not with a punch, but with a wave of black, ink-like energy that mirrored the shape of a Spirit Gun.

"Let's see how you handle the curveball," Yusuke yelled, charging headlong into his own darkness.
