KING PHOBOS: Apocalypse at Battle City – The Elephant Graveyard Reckoning Pop Rock Type Beat

The sky over Battle City didn't just turn dark; it turned a bruised, sickly purple. Thunder rolled without the flash of lightning, sounding more like the grinding of tectonic plates than a storm.

Standing on the edge of a skyscraper, a figure draped in robes that seemed woven from the void itself looked down at the neon-lit streets. In his hand, a final relic pulsed with a rhythmic, dying light.

"Everything is almost ready," he whispered, his voice a sandpaper rasp that didn't carry on the wind so much as it curdled the air. "One more task... one more soul to tether. Then, the power of the King will be mine."

He chuckled, a sound that lacked any warmth, echoing against the glass of the city.

The Arrival

Down in the plaza, the atmosphere shifted from the high-energy buzz of a tournament to a suffocating stillness. Four figures stepped off the transport, their presence usually enough to command any room—but today, they looked like prey walking into a trap.

Yugi Muto gripped the Millennium Puzzle, his knuckles white. Beside him, Prince Phobos adjusted his regal attire, his usual arrogance replaced by a visible tremor in his hands. Haru Glory held the Ten Powers sword close, the blade humming a low, mournful warning.

Yusuke Urameshi was the first to voice what they were all feeling. He stopped dead in his tracks, his Spirit Detective senses screaming.

"You guys see that?" Yusuke asked, his voice dropping to a low growl. He pointed at a group of citizens walking nearby. "These 'people'... they have no shadows."

It was true. Despite the harsh streetlights, the ground beneath the passersby was blank. They moved like puppets on invisible strings, their eyes vacant.

"Extremely bone-chilling," Yusuke added, a cold sweat breaking on his neck. "And creepy as hell."

A Heavy Silence

Haru Glory hadn't spoken since they crossed the city limits. He stared at his own shadow, which seemed to be flickering, trying to detach itself from his boots.

"Is something troubling you, Haru?" Phobos asked, his voice uncharacteristically soft. Even a prince of Meridian knew when the stakes had shifted from political to apocalyptic.

Haru didn't look up. "This is out of our hands now," he whispered. "The future that awaits... it’s like a wall. No one can change what’s coming."

He turned his gaze toward Yusuke. There was a look of profound pity in Haru's eyes—the look of a man who had seen the end of the book and knew the hero didn't get a happy ending.

"The weight," Haru said, his voice trembling. "I’m afraid it may be too much for Yusuke to bear. He’s the anchor... and the anchor is the first thing to snap when the ship goes down."

Yusuke went to crack a joke—to tell Haru to lighten up—but the words died in his throat. For the first time in his life, the Spirit Detective felt the crushing pressure of a destiny he couldn't punch his way out of.
