Unova Chronicles: The King's Son and the Rebirth of the Slumbering Knight Progressive Rock Type Beat
The stars above the wasteland of Planet M-7 were cold, indifferent witnesses to a gathering that defied the laws of every known universe.
Vegeta stood atop a jagged spire of obsidian, his arms crossed over his chest, his aura flickering with a low, dangerous hum. Below him, the unlikely trio waited: Yusuke Urameshi, leaning casually against a rock with his Spirit Gun finger twitching; Ash Ketchum, his cap pulled low and Pikachu sparking with restless electricity; and Prince Phobos, the fallen ruler of Meridian, looking disgusted by the dust on his royal robes.
The Unlikely Alliance
"Destiny can be quite ironic," Phobos muttered, his voice dripping with venom. "I never imagined that my enemy would be the King’s son. A Prince of Saiyans, a Spirit Detective, and a boy who fights with monsters. How the mighty have fallen."
Yusuke let out a dry laugh. "Look, Your Highness, we’re all a little out of our element here. But those 'Vessels' are moving. If they find the identities of the hosts before we're ready, it’s game over for every world we know."
"You know, it’s not like you to let them go," Ash said, looking up at the stoic Vegeta. "They were right there. They seem determined to defeat us, and it may just be a matter of time before they find what they're looking for."
The Solitude of the Void
Vegeta didn't look down. His gaze was fixed on the swirling nebula above.
"I did not let them go," Vegeta rumbled, his voice vibrating with a new, terrifying weight. "I simply chose to stop playing their games. I realized that to surpass the threat of the Vessels, I had to move beyond the limitations of Earth. I decided to continue my training in the solitude of space, where I would be unhindered by the distractions of your trivial emotions and your 'friendship'."
He jumped down, the ground cracking beneath his boots.
"I pushed myself until every nerve ending screamed for death. And when a solar storm erupted across this sector, it felt like an outward manifestation of the storm inside of me. My pride, my rage, my refusal to be second to anyone—especially a King's ghost."
The Awakening
The air grew heavy. Static began to lift pebbles off the ground. A golden light began to leak from Vegeta's closed fists, blindingly bright against the dark horizon.
"That's how it happened," Vegeta whispered, before his voice rose into a roar that shook the very foundation of the planet. "That's how I became a Super Saiyan!"
A pillar of gold fire erupted, blasting the others back. When the dust settled, the dark-haired Prince was gone. In his place stood a warrior wreathed in flickering gold, his eyes a cold, piercing teal.
Vegeta glared at the Spirit Detective, the Prince of Meridian, and the Trainer from Pallet Town.
"The sleeper has awakened," Vegeta declared, his smirk returning with a lethal edge. "And now, the Vessels will learn what happens when they hunt a god."
