Prince Phobos stood atop the balcony of his translucent palace, his long hair catching a wind that smelled of nothing at all. The Vanishing Kingdom

"Physically? Fine," Phobos replied, turning his gaze toward the horizon. "But our leverage is evaporating, Ash. We need the Heart of Kandrakar’s power. Without it, we can't stabilize the dimensions."
The Dilemma of Will Vandom
Ash wiped sweat from his brow, looking troubled. "But Will... she’s the Guardian. How do we get her on our side? Or even get her to let it go? We can't lose that power, but she isn't exactly trusting us right now."
Hiei narrowed his eyes, his gaze fixed on a distant point in the courtyard where a shadow seemed to be moving against the wind. "It just hit me," the fire demon whispered.
"What? A plan?" Ash asked hopefully.
"No," Hiei said, his voice dropping to a dangerous level. "It’s not what I sensed. It’s what I didn’t sense."
The Curveball
Phobos turned, his interest piqued. "Explain."
"I’ve been tracking the energy signatures since we arrived," Hiei said, his hand drifting back to the hilt of his blade. "The person we saw earlier? The one claiming to be Yusuke? It wasn't the real thing. It was a projection—a hollow shell with a filtered spirit energy."
Hiei looked at the distorted skyline of Meridian and gave a grim, knowing smirk.
"If Toguro was all about the fastball—straightforward, crushing power—this guy definitely likes the curve. We aren't fighting a warrior; we're fighting an illusionist who’s playing with the strike zone."
Phobos let out a low, dark chuckle. "Then the Heart of Kandrakar isn't just a battery. It's the only thing that can see through the lie."
