Legend of the Lightning Emperor: Blue Guardians of the Peering Moon

The moon hung heavy and jaundiced in the sky, a pale eye watching a world that had finally curdled. This wasn’t a war of kings or a clash of gods—it was a quiet, biological rot. The Blight didn’t just kill; it stripped the soul, leaving behind husks that wandered mindlessly into the flames of their own making.
Even a man of colossal power, one who could level mountains with a breath, had found himself impotent against a microscopic enemy. There was no cure. There was only the slow, rhythmic march toward extinction.
The Vacuum of Power
With the Shadow Guard—the world’s former clandestine protectors—dissolved by the plague, the world had fractured into a thousand jagged pieces. Hundreds of gangs now crawled over the corpse of civilization, each vying to be the new masters of the wasteland. They fought over scraps of iron and poisoned wells, oblivious to the fact that they were ruling over a graveyard.
Deep within the iron ribs of the Limitless Fortress, the air was thick with the smell of ozone and despair. Shito stood before a ragged group of survivors, his face a mask of grim realization.
The Missing Vanguards
"I've sent every beast I have," Shito said, his voice echoing through the hollow hall. "I've scoured the wastes, the ruins, and the deepest trenches. But the fortress is empty."
He looked at the faces before him—Haru Glory, clutching the Decalorce Sword; Yusuke Urameshi, his spirit energy flickering like a dying candle; and Musica, leaning heavily on his silver.
"Genji is gone," Shito whispered, the words hitting the floor like lead. "And so is Bon. There is no one left to lead the counter-strike."
The Final Stand
The silence that followed was heavier than the fortress itself.
Haru looked toward the horizon, where the fires of the rival gangs illuminated the clouds.
Yusuke cracked his knuckles, a habit from a life that felt like a billion years ago. "So, we're the bottom of the barrel, huh?"
Musica adjusted his coat, his eyes cold. "If the masters are gone and the beasts found nothing, then we stop looking for a cure. We start looking for a way to go out swinging."
Outside, the moon continued its indifferent vigil. The world was ending, not with a bang, but with the sound of sharpening steel and the low, mindless moan of the infected wandering just beyond the gates.
