Masquerade of the Moon: The Clow Card Carnival Southern Rock Type Beat
The wind whipped around the top of the radio tower, carrying the scent of ozone and something far older. Below, the city was a grid of flickering lights, but above, the sky was bleeding.
Dan Kuso leaned against the rusted railing, his fingers tracing the familiar grooves of a Bakugan. He didn't look like the confident brawler the world knew; he looked tired. He turned to the mismatched group gathered in the shadows of the massive transmitter.
"It all started when those cards started raining down from the sky," Dan said, his voice barely audible over the gale. "All over the world. At first, they seemed harmless. We were just kids, you know? We invented a game. We thought we were just playing."
He looked at Yusuke Urameshi, who was leaning against a steel beam, picking at a loose thread on his green spirit jacket. Yusuke scoffed, though his eyes were sharp. "I’ve seen a lot of weird stuff fall from the sky, kid. Usually, it tries to eat you."
"That’s the thing," Dan countered, hitting the railing with his palm. "It turns out they weren't harmless. They were packed with incredible power from another world. Vestroia was just the beginning. But now..."
Haru Glory stepped forward, the Ten Commandments sword strapped to his back humming with a faint, rhythmic pulse. Beside him, Prince Phobos stood with a cold, regal stillness, his eyes fixed on the horizon where the stars seemed to be flickering out one by one.
"The patterns are shifting," Phobos murmured. "The energy isn't just chaotic; it's being harvested."
"He’s right," a softer voice added. Sakura Avalon clutched her staff, her expression etched with a deep, magical exhaustion. "The Clow Cards... they’re all disappearing. I feel them blinking out, like candles in a draft. It’s not just my world. It’s the Bakugan, the Rave stones, the Spirit energy... it’s all being pulled toward a single point."
The Convergence
Dan pointed toward the center of the city, where a silhouette stood draped in the deepest shadows of a skyscraper's rooftop. The figure didn't move, yet the air around them seemed to warp and dissolve.
- The Phenomenon: Magical artifacts across dimensions are losing their essence.
- The Source: A "Figure in the Shadows" utilizing a resonance frequency emitted from the very radio tower they stood upon.
- The Stakes: If the cards and stones vanish completely, the barriers between the worlds will collapse, leaving nothing but a void.
"Whoever that is," Yusuke said, cracking his knuckles as a spark of blue Spirit Gun energy flickered at his fingertip, "they’ve got a lot of nerve stealing people's toys. I don't care if it's a card or a spirit wave—you don't take what isn't yours."
"We can't just charge in," Haru warned, gripping the hilt of his sword. "The space between us and that tower is thinning. If we step into the wrong shadow, we might end up in a world that doesn't exist anymore."
Dan looked at his friends—brawlers, detectives, guardians, and kings. "We started this as a game. It's time we finish it for real."
The figure in the shadows turned. A single, blank Card fluttered from their hand, dissolving into black smoke before it hit the ground. The hunt for the missing magic had officially begun.
