Operation Sleeping Books: Whispers from Alexandria

The mid-nineteenth century marked the beginning of the quiet collapse. King Xayden, the father of Kandrakar and the Guardians—and undeniably the most powerful man in the world—first showed signs of rapid deterioration. As his light flickered, the realm began to fray. In response, a secret task force was assembled to engineer a revival strategy, codenamed Operation Sleeping Books.
The Specialists of Red Fountain were mobilized to reverse the king’s mysterious affliction. Searching for a baseline cure, the team naturally turned their gaze toward the high council of Kandrakar. But digging into Kandrakar’s sacred archives ignited fierce diplomatic friction between Domino and the realm of the Oracle. Sacred boundaries were crossed, and trust shattered overnight.
"We have reason to believe that the Trix are in possession of a extraordinarily powerful tome," Diaz, the Svall of Kuruda, reported to the assembly, his voice echoing across the stone. "It is called the Legendarium. Every monster that has breached our borders—every myth made flesh that attacked us—was brought to life by its pages."
Diaz gestured to a glowing celestial map projected in the center of the hall. "The Legendarium was once guarded within the Great Library of Alexandria in Egypt. It was the ancient people of the holy nation of Ashlina who first discovered the existence of this sacred power—a ambient magic that flows through all living things. But today? Today a shadow lurks over the kingdom of Meridian, casting an anxiety so thick it feels as though ill tidings and bad omens float in the very air of Kandrakar itself."
"Wouldn't you say this is all a bit too convenient?"
The grand doors swung open. Atem, the Pharaoh, stepped into the high chamber of Kandrakar. Flanking him were Seto Kaiba, who adjusted his coat with disdainful precision, and Vy Low—the enigmatic operative known throughout the underworld as Scarface.
"Ancient books, convenient monsters, and a dying king," Kaiba said, pulling up a holographic scan on his wrist module. "If Domino thinks a fairy tale from Alexandria is going to save Xayden without collateral damage, you're more incompetent than I thought. The energy signatures coming off Meridian aren't random. Someone is executing a script."
Atem stepped toward the Oracle's pool, his golden Millennium Puzzle catching the dim light of the hall. "The magic of Ashlina was sealed for a reason, Diaz. If the Trix hold the Legendarium, Operation Sleeping Books isn't just a rescue mission anymore—it's a trap designed to force Domino and Kandrakar into war."
Scarface leaned against a pillar, his hand resting near his sidearm, eyes scanning the high guards lining the balconies. "So do we wake the king," Vy Low asked softly, "or do we put the books to sleep for good?"
