THE LAST UNICORN: SACRED WINGS A Tale of Glimwood Tangle — Darkness Rising

The ancient leather binding of the tome cracked as Bloom pulled it from the towering shelves of the Great Library of Alexandria. Dust motes danced in the muted light filtering through the high archways. She wiped the cover, revealing gold-embossed lettering that seemed to hum with faint magic.
"A tale of You and Glimwood Tangle," Bloom read aloud, tracing the faded runes. "According to this book, the unicorn lives deep within the forest and has hardly been seen at all..."
"We're very sorry, Master... we weren't able to reach the Codex in time," a raspy voice hissed from the shadows beyond the library’s central courtyard.
The witch Narissa bowed low, her shadow lengthening across the marble floor as she addressed Lord Darkar. Darkar’s fiery eyes glowed beneath his shadowed visor.
"Silence, Narissa," Darkar rumbled, stepping forward. He held up a glowing parchment fragment—a remnant of the ancient prophecies. He recited the inscription etched into the decaying parchment:
"Give heed to this warning, humankind: the creature of destruction will appear from the illuminating world, revealing his sacred wings. He will mirror himself among the citizenry and usher in doom and destruction. The very last unicorn is now hidden well by those who have placed him under a spell. Four centuries, three decades from that afternoon, at the end of November before the blue moon, he will wake once more and be free to go home if you call out his name: Divine Flower of Rome. If he loses this chance to rise and depart, all magic will fade from his horn and his heart."
Bloom gasped, clutching the ancient book to her chest as the realization clicked into place. The timeline, the spell, the hidden identity—it was all an elaborate trap.
"What I have done..." Bloom whispered, stepping back as Darkar turned his piercing gaze toward her. "Why do you wish to destroy me?"
Darkar let out a low, echoing laugh that shook the dust from the library's rafters. "I didn't think you'd be able to figure out my plan, Bloom. But it matters little now. Soon I will be free, and the humans don't even know they're helping me."
Narissa cackled beside him, pointing a clawed finger toward the glowing star chart hovering in the air between them.
"Ah, Aredia... the perfect planet to add a third Heart to my collection," Narissa gloated, her eyes wide with dark ambition. "Every world has a mystic heart, but this one comes without guardians."
Bloom's hands lit with dragon fire as the ambient magic of the library responded to her distress. The path through Glimwood Tangle was key, and time was rapidly running out before the end of November's blue moon.
