Don Pyro: The Infinite City & Realm of Symphonia Hard Rock Type Beat

The sky over the Limitless City wasn't a sky at all; it was a swirling vortex of violet and charcoal clouds known as the Annihilation Storm.

​Yusuke Urameshi adjusted his green jacket, his knuckles white as he gripped the railing of a floating bridge. Below them, the city stretched infinitely in every direction—a labyrinth of chrome and ancient stone that had defied exploration for four hundred years.

​"Yusuke Urameshi... is that you? Miss us?"

​A figure draped in a heavy black cloak materialized from the shadows of a jagged pillar. The air grew cold, smelling of ozone and old graves.

​The Gathering of Legends

​Yusuke didn't turn around. He knew that voice. "There you are. No time for a reunion, guys. Don Pyro is back, and that man is serious trouble—and seriously crazy."

​He turned to his companions: Phobos, the exiled prince with eyes like cold embers, and Haru Glory, the Rave Master, who held the Ten Powers sword at the ready.

​"You see that crater?" Yusuke pointed toward a section of the city that looked like it had been chewed by a god. "That’s the Area Overdrive. Pyro destroyed it years ago. He’s the only explorer who ever managed to wipe out a tenth of the Spirit World in a single blast. If he’s here, the Limitless City is just a fuse for a much bigger bomb."

​"We can't fight him alone," Haru said, the light of the Rave Stone flickering. "Not if he's mastered the Storm."

​"I know," Yusuke spat. "We need the Ancient Ones. We need the Guardians of the Veil."

​The Writing of the Beast

​As they descended into the heart of the city, the walls began to glow with a pulsing, rhythmic light. Suddenly, a holographic script shimmered into existence before them, written in the jagged, terrifying Writing of the Beast.

​Phobos stepped forward, his hand glowing with the power of Meridian. He read the script aloud, his voice trembling:

​"You are the Guardians of the Veil. You are still undetected; continue your search for the child. A beast is in your kingdom in human form. Touch it with the Heart of Meridian and reveal its true form."

​"A beast in human form?" Haru looked around the desolate, metallic hallway. "You think it's Pyro?"

​"No," Yusuke said, his spirit energy flaring around his fingertips. "Pyro is a monster, but he’s human. This is something else. Something the city was built to keep in."

​The Discovery

​A low growl echoed through the infinite corridor. A figure stood at the end of the hall—a small, trembling man who looked like a simple explorer lost in the wastes. But as the Heart of Meridian in Phobos’s hand began to pulse with a blinding crimson light, the man’s shadow stretched, growing wings and multiple jagged limbs that scraped against the ceiling.

​"Don Pyro isn't the only thing we have to worry about," Yusuke muttered, sliding into a combat stance. "Haru, get ready. Phobos, keep that Heart steady. We're about to see what's really been running this city for four centuries."

​The Annihilation Storm above roared in approval. The hunt for the child had begun, but the beast had found them first.
