Legend of the Azure Star: The Kandrakar Chronicles and the Swarm of Malice Glam Rock Type Beat

The wind howled across the peak of Mount Meridian, but it wasn't the cold that made Hei’s skin crawl. It was the vibration. The air felt heavy, ionized, and slick with a spiritual residue that tasted like copper on the tongue.
Below them, the kingdom of Meridian—once a sprawling jewel of the Veil—was swaddled in a sickly violet haze. Above the spires, swarms of Demon Insects spiraled in tight, frantic formations.
"Look at them," Hei muttered, his eyes narrowed behind his mask. "Flocking like sharks to an open wound. Is this a sign of the end, or is the rot already complete?"
He didn't really expect an answer. Hei wasn't the type to care about the fate of worlds, yet here he was, caught in a cross-dimensional mess he hadn't asked for.
The Uneasy Alliance
Beside him, Yusuke Urameshi shoved his hands into his pockets, his Spirit Detective uniform tattered at the cuffs. He spat to the side, his jaw tight. "It’s not a sign, Hei. The danger isn't coming—it’s been throwing a party down there for weeks. I can feel the Reiryoku being sucked out of the soil. Whatever is in that town is hungry."
On Hei’s other side stood Prince Phobos, the rightful (and ever-ambitious) ruler of the realm. He didn't look worried; he looked insulted. "My kingdom is being used as a feeding ground for bottom-feeders," Phobos hissed, his long hair whipping in the gale. "They are attracted to the power vacuum left by the Heart."
The Missing Piece
Between the three of them sat a worn, blue denim backpack. It belonged to Will Vandom. She had vanished four months ago during a skirmish on the border of the Human World and the Spirit Realm.
Inside the front pocket, a faint pink glow pulsed rhythmically. The Heart of Kandrakar was still there, tucked away in a side compartment, dormant but heavy with the weight of five elements. The fact that the Heart hadn't sought out a new guardian was the only thing keeping their hope—and the world’s stability—alive.
The Search Party
While the muscle stood on the mountain, the brains were miles away in a makeshift laboratory at the edge of Pallet Town. The crossover of dimensions had forced strange bedfellows:
Botan & Irma: The Spirit Realm guide and the Water Guardian had spent weeks scouring the astral planes. They found plenty of echoes, but no Will.
Professor Oak: When magic and spirit energy failed to provide coordinates, they turned to the man who understood the fundamental biology of extraordinary creatures.
"I've seen similar energy signatures in Delta-species lifeforms," Oak said, adjusting his lab coat as he analyzed a strand of hair Irma had recovered. "If the Demon Insects are flocking to Meridian, it's because they've found a concentrated source of 'Lumina' energy. But it’s distorted. It’s not Will they’re following... it’s her shadow."
Back on the Mountain
Hei picked up the backpack, slinging it over one shoulder. The static in the air was getting louder, a low hum that threatened to shatter teeth.
"If Oak doesn't find her soon, I'm going down there and burning that hive to the ground," Yusuke said, a spark of blue Spirit Gun energy flickering at his fingertip.
"And risk destroying the Guardian?" Phobos countered with a cold smirk. "How noble of you, Detective."
Hei ignored them both, his eyes fixed on the shifting swarm below. He didn't care about nobility, and he certainly didn't care about Meridian. But he knew one thing: the air was getting thicker, and something was about to hatch.
