​Yusuke Urameshi stepped forward, his Spirit Gun hand twitching. He looked at the figure sitting by the lamp—the girl they had rescued from the Meridian heart.

​"Maybe you saw a hologram or an astral drop," Yusuke said, glancing at Phobos to ensure the Prince was truly on their side now. "But the Eliyon decoy worked to perfection. Before we move, we have to make sure this is the real Princess Eliyon. We can't afford another trick."

​The Ghost of Sensui

​As they waited for the verification, the shadows in the room elongated. A voice—disembodied and weary—echoed from the lamp's vapor. It was the record of the Spirit World.

​"In all my reign," the voice of Koenma drifted through the mist, "nothing seemed more natural than choosing Sensui. He was a child prodigy. He could sense apparitions from a young age; they were drawn to him like magnets. But he had something more—he could destroy them. He was our greatest hope."

​The mist turned dark, swirling into images of a man falling into madness. "But then black and white blurred. The world flipped upside down, and the hero became the harbinger."

​"Listen carefully," Will Vandom interrupted, her eyes flashing with the power of the Quintessence. "We don't have a lot of time. Sensui’s fall was just the beginning of the cracks in the veil."

​She gestured to the monitors lining the back of the chamber, which were flickering with a jagged, red "V" symbol.

​Yusuke stepped toward the real Eliyon, who was beginning to glow with a light that matched the Kurama Lamp. "Vengix thinks it’s won because it owns the network. But it doesn't own the spirit. Phobos, Will—if this is the real Princess, her light is the only firewall that can't be breached."
