Lyric Continent: The Millennium King and the Shadow of Deltora
The dimensional rift didn’t open with a bang, but with the soft, rhythmic pulsing of the Belt of Deltora.Lief stood at the edge of a jagged cliff, his hand hovering over the hilt of the Belt. The gems—the Diamond, the Emerald, the Lapis Lazuli—were glowing with a frantic, mismatched light. He wasn't in Deltora anymore. The air smelled of ozone and something metallic, like the Great Forge but colder."I wouldn't touch that if I were you," a voice called out.Lief spun around, drawing his sword. Standing a few paces away was a young man with gravity-defying hair and a leather jacket, holding a hand over a glowing device strapped to his arm. Yugi Muto looked less like a warrior and more like a scholar, yet the weight of the gold pyramid around his neck felt as ancient as the gems in Lief’s belt."Who are you?" Lief demanded. "Is this the Shadow Lord's doing?""I don't know any Shadow Lord," Yugi said calmly, his eyes shifting—for a moment, he seemed taller, more regal. "But there’s a massive surge of spiritual energy converging right here. It’s pulling from different timelines."The GatheringBefore Lief could respond, a silver blur streaked across the sky. A boy with spiked silver hair landed nearby, a massive, blunt-looking sword resting on his shoulder. Haru Glory, the Rave Master, looked around with a grin that didn't match the tension of the moment."Well, this isn't the Continent of Song," Haru said, patting a strange, shaking silver creature (Plue) that shivered at his feet. "My sword, Ten Powers, is vibrating like crazy. It’s reacting to... well, everything you guys are carrying.""It's a localized fold in space-time," a fourth voice added. They all looked up to see a black-haired man floating—actually floating—a few inches off the ground. Tenchi Masaki looked the most bewildered of all. "I was just helping my grandfather at the shrine, and then the Lighthawk Wings manifested on their own. I think our worlds are literally overlapping."The Common EnemyThe ground groaned. From the shadow of the valley below, a creature began to knit itself together from the darkness. It wasn't quite a Shadow Lord's Grey Guard, nor was it a Dark Bring or a Duel Monster. It was a glitch in reality—a beast of pure void."We don't have time for introductions," Yugi said, his voice dropping into a deeper, more authoritative tone. The Millennium Puzzle flashed. "If we don't stop that entity, these dimensions will collapse into each other."Lief stepped forward, the Belt of Deltora blazing. "The Topaz gives us strength, and the Ruby wards off evil. Follow my lead!"Haru gripped the Hachimaki of his sword. "Form One: Eisenmeteor!"Tenchi raised his hand, and three translucent wings of light shimmered into existence. "I'll try to stabilize the perimeter!"The Battle of Four WorldsThe void beast lunged. Lief moved with the agility of a hunter, his sword catching the light of the gems. As he struck, the Emerald on his belt pulsed, revealing the beast’s weak point—a core of flickering static."Haru, now!" Lief shouted.Haru leaped, his sword shifting mid-air into Silfarion. He moved like a bolt of lightning, striking a dozen times in a second, shredding the outer layers of the shadow."My turn," Yugi whispered. He drew a card from his deck, the holographic light merging with the magical energy of the rift. "I summon Dark Magician!" The purple-clad sorcerer appeared, casting a binding spell that held the beast in place. "Magic Attack!"The creature roared, its power surging to retaliate, but Tenchi moved in. The Lighthawk Wings formed a barrier that no darkness could penetrate. With a calm focus, Tenchi channeled the energy of the Jurai, creating a blade of pure light."Everyone," Tenchi called out, "attack the center! I'll hold the rift open!"The Final StrikeIt was a symphony of disparate powers:Lief’s sword, empowered by the collective magic of Deltora.Haru’s "Explosion" form, detonating against the core.Yugi’s "Dark Magic Burst," channeling the shadow energy back into the void. The explosion wasn't loud; it was a flash of pure white that blinded them all.The PartingWhen the light faded, the valley was gone. They were standing in a misty "nowhere" space between worlds. The rift was closing."I guess this is goodbye," Haru said, sheathing his sword and picking up Plue. "You guys are pretty tough. If you're ever in my world, look me up.""Likewise," Yugi said with a kind smile, the Atem spirit receding back into the Puzzle. "Trust in the heart of the cards, Lief. Your gems are more than just stones—they're your bond with your people."Lief looked at his belt. The gems were quiet now, glowing with a steady, peaceful light. "And you, Tenchi. That power you have... it’s more than magic. Use it well."Tenchi nodded, his Lighthawk Wings gently fading. "I just want to get home before Ryoko and Ayeka tear the house down. Good luck, everyone."One by one, they faded into their own realities. Lief blinked, and suddenly he was back on the cliffside in Deltora. The wind was cold, and the Shadow Lord was still out there—but for the first time, the weight of the Belt felt a little lighter. He wasn't the only one fighting the darkness.
