Precursor Genesis: The Haunting Moon of the Fallen Lords
The twin suns of Oban beat down, baking the crimson sands. Will Vandom wiped a layer of red dust from her brow, her hand resting near the pulsing Heart of Kandrakar. Traversing a barren alien planet on a cosmic rescue mission was hard enough, but doing it with her brother and sister made the tension unbearable.
"I'm telling you, we should have turned west at the salt flats," Will said, casting a sharp look at her older brother.
Prince Phobos scoffed, adjusting his scavenged desert gear to keep the glare out of his cold, analytical eyes. "And I am telling you, sister, your instincts are governed by impatience, not geography. If we had gone west, we’d be trapped in a chasm."
"Stop it, both of you," Queen Elyon interjected, her voice carrying the quiet authority of Meridian's throne, even wrapped in dusty desert robes. She studied a faint hologram projected from a cracked piece of crystalline Precursor tech. "We’ve been separated since Cedric banished the three of us here. Fighting among ourselves is exactly what that serpent wants."
She was right. When Cedric usurped the throne of Meridian, he hadn't just ousted a monarch—he had torn their royal family apart, banishing the three siblings to the far reaches of Oban.
"Cedric didn't just target the royal bloodline," Phobos muttered, his usual arrogance tempered by the sting of defeat. "He sent the Starfire Champion and the Lord of Orca here, too. He's sweeping his greatest threats into the same wasteland."
"Which makes finding them our only way back," Will said, softening her tone as she stepped alongside her siblings. "According to the Heart, the Lord of Orca is close."
As if on cue, the heat haze shimmered. A massive warrior etched from obsidian stepped out of the dust—the Lord of Orca himself.
"The royal heirs of Meridian," the giant boomed, his dark eyes taking in the three siblings. "And the Keeper of Kandrakar. You carry the blood of the throne, yet you walk the sand like exiles."
"We are exiles only until we reclaim our home," Elyon replied, stepping forward. "The Precursor artifacts and the Lords of Darsha are locked within the Whispering Labyrinth. We need your strength to break Cedric's seal."
The giant studied the siblings—Will's fiery resolve, Phobos's sharp intellect, and Elyon's formidable power—and gave a single, heavy nod. "Then follow me."
He led them deep into a fracturing canyon where gravity itself began to unravel. Sand drifted upward like hourglass dust, and colossal ancient ruins hovered in midair. At the center of the anomaly stood the Precursor Labyrinth, its crystal cages holding the suspended, distorted forms of the remaining Lords of Darsha.
Before they could reach the central core, the shadow of Cedric materialized over the chamber, his voice echoing like scraping metal. "You are relentless, little royals. But a scattered family is easily crushed."
Dark energy lashed out, warping the chamber's gravity to pin them down.
"Not this family!" Will shouted. She channeled the Heart of Kandrakar, throwing up a shimmering barrier of pure lightning to deflect the assault.
"Phobos, cover the flank!" Elyon commanded.
Phobos didn't hesitate. Bracing himself beside Will, he unleashed arcs of dark energy to disrupt Cedric’s shadow projection. "Go, Elyon! Secure the matrix!"
With her brother and sister holding off the usurper's magic, Elyon flew straight to the heart of the Precursor pyramid. The moment her hands touched the shifting metal, her eyes flared with brilliant, divine light.
"By the blood of Meridian and the legacy of the Precursors," Elyon declared, "be unbound!"
A shockwave of pure light surged through the Labyrinth. The spatial cages shattered instantly. The Lords of Darsha erupted from their prisons, their reality-warping powers restoring the chamber's balance and crushing Cedric's projection into nothingness with a final, echoing scream.
As the dust settled, the freed Lords bowed to the three siblings.
Will collapsed onto a nearby stone, catching her breath with a faint smirk. "Not bad for a family reunion."
Phobos offered a rare, slight smile as he helped her up, while Elyon joined them at the center of the ruins. Cedric had tried to break them by casting them out together, but he had only unified the strongest force in the realm.
"Now," Elyon said, looking out toward the horizon where the Starfire Champion awaited, "let's go take back our kingdom
