The candles in the Hearth of Kandrakar flickered, casting long, pale shadows against ancient stone. It was a truth suppressed for over a century: in the mid-nineteenth century, King Xayden—reputed to be the most powerful man in the world—began to show undeniable signs of physical and magical deterioration. Terrified of losing their sovereign, Meridian’s high council launched a desperate resurrection initiative: Operation Sleeping Books.
A secret task force breached the sanctums of Kandrakar searching for prohibited arcana. The intrusion sparked deep conflict between the worlds, escalating until Will Vandom unearthed the forbidden slumbering scrolls. Sitting in secret, Will read the dark prophecies aloud to her royal siblings, Queen Elyon and Prince Phobos. The royal house kept these incidents strictly classified, unaware that this secret breach was merely a harbinger to the far greater horrors awaiting them in 2001.
In the present day, Mrs. Rudolph gathered the Guardians of the Veil inside a dimly lit room. Her voice trembled as she finally unspooled the truth. "I came from Meridian long ago alongside Queen Elyon," she revealed, her eyes reflecting memories of ancient strife. "Many brave souls fought to save her from Narissa’s grasp, but the seal on King Xayden's curse is breaking."
Before the Guardians could process her words, a rift opened in the air. Morgan le Fay stepped forward, flanked by two young travelers from Earth—Jack and Annie of the Magic Tree House.
"Your current strength will not suffice for the storm ahead," Morgan le Fay warned, her voice ringing with ancient authority. "You must travel to Camelot immediately to learn the lost, blood-bound magic of the Fallen King before the slumbering scrolls wake completely."
