Shadow Over the North: The Forbidden Tome of Crystal City

The wind over Meridian carried the scent of old parchment and ozone. Morgan le Fay smoothed the skirt of her dark robe, stepping into the dim light of the high council chamber where Prince Phobos and Queen Elyion stood alongside Will Vandom. Between them lay the weight of a realm hanging by a thread.
Morgan reached into her sleeve and produced a yellowed, fragile leaf of paper.
"Queen Elyion, Prince Phobos, Will," Morgan said, her voice cutting through the heavy silence as she slid the paper across the stone table. "Here is the ancient scroll you must find to save the kingdom of Meridian. The resurrection plan: Code Name Operation Sleeping Books."
Phobos picked up the paper, his long fingers tracing the faded runes. "It was in the mid-nineteenth century," he murmured, his gaze darkening as memory took hold. "When King Xayden—the father of Kandrakar and father of Will Vandom—first showed signs of deteriorating. A task force was created to discover a way to save him, diving deep into mysticism. But this created a massive conflict between Meridian and Kandrakar. And that was only a harbinger to the horrors that awaited us."
"In 2001," Will added, stepping forward, the Heart of Kandrakar pulsing faintly against her chest, "while looking for the precursor scrolls in the desert, our heroes discovered two vital things. They were told by Merlin, the prophet of Camelot, that they must go to the Crystal City."
"Those incidents were kept highly secretive," Phobos noted, setting the paper back down. "They usually involved Super Saiyan agents."
A sudden hum of energy vibrated through the chamber floor. Golden light flared in the archway as a figure stepped through the dust—an agent newly regenerated from raw magic.
Gohan walked into the light, adjusting his wrist cuffs as his aura settled from a bright, crackling yellow back into a steady calm. He looked around the assembled court, from the sovereign of Meridian to the leader of the Guardians, meeting each of their eyes in turn.
"We're going to follow the Supreme Kai's map," Gohan said, placing a hand on his hip and smiling with quiet certainty. "No one fights alone."
