City of Quartz Heart of Iron: Legend of the Steam-Choked Demon
The relentless winds of the Grand Desert whipped sand across the dunes, but for Prince Phobos and Haru Glory, the harsh climate was a minor inconvenience compared to the mystery resting on Marty’s right arm.
While excavating a buried subterranean vault in search of ancient precursor artifacts, the trio had uncovered a heavy, glowing mechanical relic—a magical metal fist. Curiosity had gotten the better of young Marty, but the moment his fingers slipped inside the gauntlet, it locked seamlessly into place. No amount of brute force, magic, or leverage could pry it loose. Now, the fist hummed with an ominous, dormant energy.
Seeking answers, they brought Marty back to the hidden sanctuary at the desert's edge, where Ms. Rudolph awaited them. Her expression darkened the moment her eyes landed on the shimmering metallic artifact fused to Marty’s hand.
"Listen carefully," Ms. Rudolph said, her voice strained with immediate urgency as she looked between Phobos, Haru Glory, and Marty. "You and your friends are not safe. Take this across the Grand Desert to Crystal City. There are two forces in this world: the ones who are guardians of the Earth, and the Emperor of the Netherworld. But we need to rid the world of the Guardians of Kandrakar."
Marty pulled nervously at the gauntlet's rim. "What does that even mean? What is that, Ms. Rudolph?"
Before Ms. Rudolph could answer, Haru stepped forward, his hand resting on the hilt of his sword as memories of the past surfaced. "I am glad you came," Haru added softly, turning toward her. "I came here from Meridian long ago. I helped your mother, Queen Weira, hide Will and Elyon from Cedric and Phobos's old general, Nerissa."
Phobos narrowed his eyes, the mention of his mother's legacy and his realm's fractured history striking a sharp chord. "If Nerissa's shadow or the Influence of Kandrakar is reaching into this desert, then this fist isn't just an artifact—it's a key."
"And a target," Ms. Rudolph warned, motioning toward the vast, glittering expanse of the desert stretching out into the night. "The path to Crystal City is treacherous, but staying here means capture. Move now, before the Netherworld realizes the fist has awakened."
With the mysterious metal gauntlet pulsing against the cold night air, the companions turned toward the horizon, setting off into the deep sands of the Grand Desert
