Lost Knights of Camelot: The Mystical Heart of Earth

The heavy canopy of the ruined Glastonbury forest hummed with static. Rain fell in thick, glittering sheets, reflecting the purple hue of the dying sky.
Will Vandom pulled her cloak tighter, her hand resting heavily on the glowing leather casing at her belt—the Book of the Pausing Flash. Beside her, Prince Phobos stood like a specter in his obsidian Aether-Plate armor, while their younger sister, Elyion, floated inches off the muddy ground, her eyes glowing an opaque gold as she synced with the fading ley lines.
"We are running out of time, Will," Phobos said, his voice cold. "The shadow-beasts are closing in. If the Heart fails, Meridian and Earth burn together."
"She’s right here, Phobos. Stop talking about her like she’s already gone," Will snapped.
"I can hear it," Elyion whispered. "Beneath the roots. But the path is locked."
"That's where we come in!" Annie darted past Phobos’s shoulder, holding a field guide while Jack frantically adjusted his glasses over a glowing map. "The treehouse inscriptions say the seal needs two things: the Grimoire to pause the gate's defense matrix, and a massive physical barrier to reflect the energy!"
"Leave the paper work to us," Michelle Chesterfield said with a light grin, pulling a massive stack of cardstock from her coat. Beside her, Maggie Mui pulled a heavy ream from her satchel, while Anita King flicked a crisp, razor-sharp sheet between her fingers.
Before the shadow-beasts could strike, two figures stepped out from the swirling mist. Masaki Karsu unsheathed his blade with a resonant ring, his posture steady as he took up a guard position alongside Phobos. Nearby, Kyogi Kagami adjusted his dark coats, his eyes reflecting the mirror-like distortions of the Limitless Fortress as he analyzed the shifting ley lines.
"Keep focusing on the seal, Princess," Kyogi Kagami said calmly, weaving spatial illusions around the perimeter to misdirect the oncoming horde. "Masaki and I will hold the choke point."
"No beast passes this line," Masaki Karsu declared, his sword igniting with a sharp wave of aura that drove back the dark vanguard.
A bone-chilling roar echoed through the trees as massive shadow-beasts burst forward.
"Jack, Annie, stay behind the Paper Sisters!" Will yelled, unclasping the Book of the Pausing Flash.
A blinding burst of silver light detonated from the parchment. Instantly, the world washed out into monochrome. The falling raindrops froze mid-air, suspended like glass beads. The leaping monsters hung motionless in mid-stride.
"Now!" Phobos and Masaki Karsu roared in unison, leaping through the frozen rain. Phobos's particle broadsword and Masaki's glowing edge cleaved through the static beasts in a sequence of fluid strike paths. Kyogi Kagami manipulated the frozen space, shattering the frozen beasts with localized spatial ripples.
Maggie immediately manipulated her paper, weaving thousands of dense sheets into a massive, armored dome to shelter Jack, Annie, and Elyion. Michelle launched hundreds of paper arrows that expanded into giant explosive spears, while Anita darted ahead, slicing through remaining threats with razor-thin paper blades.
"Elyion, channel your light through Maggie's paper array!" Jack shouted over the roar of collapsing energy.
Elyion extended her hands, her royal crest igniting. A beam of pure emerald mana shot into Maggie's paper dome, which acted as a giant parabolic mirror, focusing the raw magic directly into the ancient stone altar.
The ground shuddered. The earth split open, revealing a subterranean cavern bathed in blinding emerald light: the Mystical Heart of Earth, pulsing like a living star beneath the roots of the world.
