Shadow of The Dragon Flame- Company of Light & The Beast’s Underworld Gate (1998)
The threshold between fear and survival is not crossed by looking outward, but by looking in. When fear reaches into the marrow of your being—when the terror of non-existence grows so profound that it threatens to rip your soul into absolute shreds—there is no external savior to call upon.
Do not turn toward your sister. Do not look to Will Vandom, or to anyone else who holds power in this realm. Prince Phobos, this has always been your fight, and yours alone. When stripped of throne, title, and arrogance, a creature requires only one fundamental force to endure: the sheer, unyielding will to survive. A beast needs nothing else—only the instinct to survive, to endure the hunt, and to claim its place among the pack for one more day. If you wish to survive the consuming darkness, you must shed the illusions of majesty and become a beast once more.
The Birth of the Dark Flame
There is a story you must hear—one that could not be told until this exact hour. The time was not right before, but the balance has shifted.
It begins in the ancient era of the Company of Light, during their most desperate and violent struggle against Valtor. When the Great Dragon was born, creating the cosmos with its blinding radiance, a fragment of the ultimate darkness mixed with the sacred primeval flame. As that singular spark of corrupted flame fell into the abyss, it was discovered by the Three Ancestral Witches.
They gathered the fallen spark, twisting and corrupting its nature, binding its dark magic into a single entity: your brother, Valtor.
"Wait..." Bloom, leader of the Winx, realization dawning in her eyes. "Then you were the one who stole the amulet—the Seal of Phobos?"
The Broken Sensui
Every realm produces those driven by absolute light, but absolute light casts the most absolute shadows.
In all my reign, no choice ever felt more natural than choosing Shinobu Sensui. Like Kuwabara, Sensui possessed an innate ability to sense apparitions from early childhood. To him, the universe was painted in stark black and white: human was good, demon was evil, and every spirit from the underworld had to be destroyed without hesitation.
He fought with absolute conviction, standardizing his world into victims and monsters. But that rigid morality was fragile. It required only one night—one glimpse into the true, unfiltered brutality of human nature—to shatter his worldview forever. When he saw what humanity was capable of when left to its own dark devices, the black-and-white universe collapsed, leaving behind only the cold realization that the true monsters were not always the ones born in the dark.
