The Annihilators: Legend of the Flame King & The Kane Phalanx
The air in the grand hall of Kandrakar was thick with the scent of ozone and burning stone. Dust filtered through the shattered skylights, illuminating the chaos that had spilled into the heart of the realm.
"Look how far Meridian has fallen these last three years," G said, his voice laced with venom as he surveyed the cracked marble and scorched tapestries. "The vandalism caused such a stir that you can't even handle a single intruder."
"Enough, G," Diaz interrupted, taking a heavy step forward. His expression was a storm of exhausted rage. "It's been three years. I can't exactly say that I am happy to see you. It's awful to reunite this way, with so much water under the bridge."
"To come back after such a long absence and see this happening is more than I can stand!" G snapped, reaching for the hilt at his side.
"Don't be so rash," a cold, smooth voice echoed from the shadows near the throne.
The shadows coalesced, twisting into a form that sent a chill through the room.
"So, it's Darkness," Diaz growled, shifting into a defensive stance.
"Hands off my vessel," the shadow hissed, a grotesque smirk forming in the abyss of its face. "We originally had our sights set on you, Diaz, but you developed a certain resistance to darkness. So, we did what the Keyblade did and moved down the list. Roxas—now there was a worthy candidate. Unfortunately, he became too aware of himself and returned to darkness."
Before Diaz could respond, the floor trembled with a rhythmic, low-frequency thrum that rattled the surviving glass in the high arches.
Prince Phobos stepped out from the ruined colonnade, his golden cloak stained with soot, though his posture remained infuriatingly noble. He didn't look at G or Diaz; his eyes were fixed on the horizon past the shattered gates.
"The Annihilators—fearsome juggernauts of evil—are headed towards Kandrakar," Phobos added, his voice eerily calm despite the apocalyptic warning. "They're on a straight line to the palace."
