Knights of Vengeance: The Secret Realm of Kandrakar — Eclipse of the Eternal Void

The ink on the parchment was barely dry when Prince Phobos paused, his quill hovering over his memoir.
“It’s funny how you wake up each day and never know if it will be one that will change your life forever,” he wrote, his voice echoing in the quiet chambers of Metamoor. “But that is what I was thinking the day I visited the kingdom where my mother was born.”
He remembered the bitter cold of that morning, the stench of damp stone, and the low, incessant scurrying beneath his boots.
“Mom, what is this place?” a younger, tremulous version of himself had whispered into the gloom. “There’s rats everywhere.”
“He’s just too strong,” his mother’s faint voice had replied from the dark, her hand trembling on his shoulder. “Just remain still... and try to stay awake.”
Years had passed since those words were spoken, yet the darkness of that day seemed to bleed right into the present. Standing opposite him now in the ruined courtyard was Diaz, bathed in a suffocating, pitch-black aura that swallowed the ambient light.
“You don’t intend to interfere with me, do you, Prince Phobos?” Diaz inquired, his posture agonizingly relaxed. “You do know whoever attacks me will return to nothingness.”
“You’ll have to use a different threat,” Phobos sneered, stepping forward without a flicker of hesitation. “I’ve been close to returning to nothingness for a long time now. You may be the fear of death that permeates the darkness, but I am the unbridled spirit of war.”
Off in the shadows, the ancient witch Narissa cackled, her voice like grinding stones. “You are to be praised for your determination, Prince! What is it you seek in the kingdom above?”
“Vengeance!” Phobos snarled.
“It’s a trap!” a sharp voice cut through the clash of dark magic. Will Vandom sprinted into the courtyard, the Heart of Kandrakar glowing faintly at her chest before suddenly flickering out. “It’s frost! The Heart—it’s gone!”
Before chaos could fully consume the group, Sakura Avalon stepped into the center of the dynamic spellwork, her staff gleaming with precise, analytical clarity.
“Water reflects, shadow acts like a body’s double, and illusions aren’t the real thing,” Sakura stated calmly, tapping her staff against the cobblestone. “Look closely. It’s a mirror.”
With a brilliant flash, the illusion shattered, revealing that the true battle—and the path to the kingdom above—had only just begun.
