The ink in my journal is the only thing that feels solid anymore. Looking back, it’s hard to believe how it started. Long ago, the world was a single kingdom, a golden age ruled by goodness. But evil has a way of finding a crack in the floorboards.

The wicked kingdom of Meridian grew like a cancer until it had to be excised, sealed off from all other worlds. But that safety came at a price: we lost the protection of the Veil. Now, the world is a patchwork of scars, and we are the ones stitching it back together.

The Weight of Two Journeys

My life changed the moment I met Resha Valentine. She is a being of staggering power, and she was the one who saw something in me worth saving—or perhaps just something worth using. She set us on two paths that felt like a death sentence:

  1. The Great Containment: A journey to stop the darkness of Meridian from bleeding through the atmosphere.
  2. The Restoration: A desperate quest to return the Rave Stones to their ancestral altars to stabilize the ley lines of reality.

Neither journey was easy. To tell the truth, there were nights I didn't think we’d see the sunrise. But as I sit here writing this, I’m just glad I lived long enough to put pen to paper.

The Resistance of Symphonia

Before the quest, there was only terror. A corrupted militia kingdom ruled the world with an iron fist, backed by technology and dark magic that left no one safe. Then, the small nation of Symphonia did the impossible: they stood up.

Shiba, the elder warrior, gathered the only souls capable of weathering the storm. He gave the command to a group that defied logic, a fellowship of displaced heroes:

  • Will Vandom, clutching the Heart of Kandrakar.
  • Yusuke Urameshi, cracking his knuckles with a spirit-gun charged.
  • Haru Glory, the young Rave Master.
  • Usagi, the Silver Moon Princess whose light was the only thing the militia truly feared.

The Thickening Air

As the group moved toward the border of the fallen kingdom, the atmosphere shifted. The air became heavy, tasting of ozone and rot. Demon insects, drawn to the chaotic vibrations of the Rave Stones and the heroes' own auras, began to swarm. They circled overhead like sharks sensing blood in the water, their wings buzzing with a frequency that vibrated in the teeth.

Was this a sign of things to come, or had the danger already arrived?

Standing apart from the group, leaning against a jagged rock, Hei—the Black Reaper—watched the swarm. His mask hid his expression, and his eyes remained cold as he adjusted his tactical coat. The others were worried about destiny and the fate of the world. He just tightened his wires.

"Is this the end or just the beginning?" Will whispered, looking at the sky.

Hei didn't even look up. "What do I care?" he thought to himself. In a world this broken, you don't worry about the future. You just worry about the next kill.
