Outlaw Code: Forge of the Dark Crystal

The cockpit of the Outlaw Star hummed with a tension that had nothing to do with the ship’s engines. Outside the viewscreen, the reality-warping static of the Annihilation Storm began to lick at the hull, turning the black of space into a bruised purple abyss.
Gene Starwind checked the cylinders of his Caster gun, his movements sharp and restless. Beside him, Haru Glory rested a hand on the hilt of the Decaforce Sword, its metal cool against his palm. Leaf, the Knight of Deltora, stood centered, his eyes fixed on the swirling chaos ahead.
The Thief’s Philosophy
Musica, leader of the Silver Rhythm Gang, leaned over the navigation console. His fingers danced across the controls, manipulating the silver tools he commanded with a conductor’s grace.
"You know," Musica said, his voice cutting through the static, "a thief once told me, 'I may steal, but that doesn't make me inhuman.' I used to think that was just an excuse. But out here, among the outlaws adrift in the stars, you see the truth of it."
He looked back at the trio of warriors.
"The galaxy is full of people who say you might not have the urge to break the law, but you’re still bound to ignore it when it suits you. But those? The ones who live outside the law and follow no code at all? They’re the ones who cause the greatest calamities. They aren't just thieves; they're voids."
The Dragon’s Wisdom
From the shadows of the sub-deck, a presence loomed—massive, ancient, and radiating a calm that felt like a physical weight. Terradir, the Great Dragon Warrior, stepped into the light. His scales shimmered like polished obsidian.
"He speaks truly," Terradir rumbled, his voice vibrating in their chests. "Structure is the only thing keeping the soul from dissolving in a place like the Annihilation Storm."
He turned his golden eyes toward Gene, Haru, and Leaf.
"All warriors feel fear at one time or another. There is no shame in that. The universe is vast and uncaring; to not fear it would be madness. But only the most valiant among us can face that fear and master it."
Approaching the End
The ship lurched violently. A bolt of raw, chaotic energy streaked past the bow. The sensor alarms transitioned from a chirp to a steady, mournful wail.
"We're hitting the wall!" Gene shouted, grabbing the pilot's yoke. "Musica, tell me we’re on course!"
Musica’s expression hardened, his silver manipulation glowing as he fused his energy with the ship's navigation array. "We’re through the worst of the turbulence. Look!"
Beyond the lightning of the storm, a golden glow began to pierce the violet clouds. It was a beacon of impossible purity, radiating a frequency that felt like a half-remembered song.
"We’re getting close to Symphonia now," Musica whispered, a rare look of awe crossing his face. "Hold on. If we’re going to be legends, we might as well do it with our eyes open."
The Outlaw Star plunged into the heart of the light, four warriors and a dragon riding a thief’s hope into the center of the universe.
