The Scepter Of Ruby Moon: Star Metal and The Dragons Tear

The sky over Deltora didn't just darken; it bruised, turning a sickly shade of violet that made the golden fields of the Plains of Ratad look like rusted iron.

In the center of the path stood the Absol. Its white fur was pristine against the dying light, its scythe-like horn curved toward the horizon. It didn't attack; it simply watched with eyes that had seen the fall of empires.

The Gathering of Legends

"He's here," Countess Diana whispered, her voice trembling as she clutched her silk robes. "The Absol only appears before the Great Tragedy. It’s a harbinger... a final warning."

Ash Ketchum adjusted his cap, his eyes narrowing as he looked at the stoic Pokémon. "If it's here to warn us, then we're already late. We have to find the Star Beast before it’s too late."

Leaf, the Knight of Deltora, drew her sword, the steel singing as it cleared the scabbard. Beside her, Ruby Moon spread her crimson wings, her magical aura pulsing in rhythm with the uneasy heartbeat of the land. Even Darth Maul remained silent, his hand hovering over his lightsaber hilt, his predatory instincts screaming that the Force had gone cold.

"The Kingdom is densely populated," Leaf said, looking toward the sprawling spires of Del in the distance. "If the Star Beast wakes here, the casualties will be unthinkable."

A Royal Burden

Behind the vanguard, Yusuke Urameshi leaned against a gnarled tree, his Spirit Gun hand tucked casually in his pocket, though his jaw was set tight.

"The stones are our only shot, right?" Yusuke asked, glancing at the belt of glowing gems Leaf carried. "If they work, we find the beast, bag it, and take it back to the Kingdom’s heart."

He looked over at King Raizen, who stood like a mountain of shadow. The old king’s eyes were fixed on the Absol.

"The stones will react," Raizen rumbled, his voice like grinding stones. "But a beast that falls from the stars does not wish to be caged, Yusuke. The Absol isn't mourning the tragedy—it's witnessing the birth of a new era of blood."

Conan, checking the string of his bow, looked between the King and the harbinger. "Then we don't wait for the tragedy to find us. We move now."

The Sinking Feeling

As the group moved past the Absol, the creature let out a low, mournful cry. Diana shivered. The "sinking feeling" she had described wasn't just dread—it was a literal shift in the air pressure.

The Star Beast was close. It was beneath them. And as the gems on Leaf’s belt began to scream with a blinding, rhythmic light, the ground beneath the kingdom of Deltora began to crack.

"The tragedy isn't what's coming," Maul hissed, finally igniting his crimson blade. "The tragedy is that we're standing right on top of it."
