The Looking Glass: Reflections of the Silver Crystal
The air in the Dreamyard didn't just feel cold; it felt heavy, like breathing through wet wool. Tsunami stood at the edge of the crumbling concrete, her eyes darting between the three confused heroes she had just roused from their slumber.
"There’s a feeling of something evil here," she whispered, her voice tight.
Boruto Uzumaki rubbed his head, his blue eyes struggling to focus on the jagged skyline of the Unova region. Beside him, Ryo of the Wildfire gripped the hilt of his sword, the mystical heat of his armor flickering like a dying candle. Ash Ketchum was the last to rise, Pikachu sparking nervously on his shoulder.
"I see you finally woke up," Tsunami said, her gaze fixed on the shadows pooling in the corners of the ruins. "There’s something unpleasant around here. I don't think it's safe. If everyone is lying, then the truth can never see the light of day."
"What's going on?" Ryo thought, his mind racing. "Is this a dream?"
The Shadow in the Ruins
From the darkness of a rusted bulkhead, a figure shimmered into existence. It wasn't human, but a manifestation of pure malice—an Evil Tulpa born from the twisted thoughts of the facility's past.
"So, what flavor of bull do you like best?" the Tulpa sneered, its voice a discordant echo. "You should consider the origin of the armor before you waste your effort, Ryo. They are filled with savageness. As you continue to battle, your bloodlust will increase."
Ryo winced as his armor hummed with a sudden, predatory hunger. The Tulpa laughed, its form flickering like static.
The Architect of Chaos
"Don't let it get in your head," a sharp, commanding voice rang out.
From the upper catwalks stepped a man in a sharp black suit, the red 'R' on his lapel catching the dim light. Giovanni of Team Rocket looked down at them with a cold, calculating smile.
"The Dreamyard is an abandoned research facility somewhere in the Unova region," Giovanni explained, his hands clasped behind his back. "They were conducting research on Future Energy here. According to my research, Future Energy has the power to turn our wildest dreams into reality."
"Or our worst nightmares," Boruto countered, his hand moving toward a kunai.
"Precisely," Giovanni said. "The Tulpa you see is a byproduct of that energy reacting to your own inner shadows. You aren't just fighting a monster; you're fighting the part of yourselves that wants to win at any cost."
The Tulpa lunged, its claws extending into jagged shards of dark energy. Boruto’s Karma mark began to glow, and Ash commanded Pikachu to use Thunderbolt, but the electricity seemed to be swallowed by the heavy atmosphere. The battle for the Dreamyard—and their own sanity—had begun.
