Elemental Sorcerer Sigheart: Requiem for the Sleeping Woods

I’ve never seen a place as dark as this. That’s why they call it the Dark.
We were venturing into a part of the forest where even the birds refused to fly. An evil dwelt here—an old and wicked evil. Legend spoke of a guardian bound to the threshold, a creature so fierce that anyone who had ever tried to defeat him was never seen again. Around us, the gnarled branches groaned and scraped together like brittle bones. The trees were warning us to turn around. Going any further could end badly.
"Pay no attention to the psychic invaders behind the curtain," Prince Phobos sneered, his cold voice cutting through the oppressive quiet as he turned to Leif, Deltora’s King. "The knights must have been our psychic invaders."
"I don't think so," Will Vandom said, her knuckles whitening around her staff. She tilted her head, her brown eyes wide with a creeping realization. "That melody from my dream... it's still playing."
"We don't hear anything, sister," Phobos dismissed, his gaze scanning the swirling fog.
"Pay attention, Phobos!" Will insisted, her voice sharp with desperation. "She was in the shadows the whole time, making us dance to her tune like marionettes! She must be behind all the trouble in Kandrakar lately, including the Knights of Vengeance. But after that blast of psychic feedback..."
A violent hum vibrated through the air, shattering the silence like breaking glass. The shadowy mist coiled back to reveal a towering figure steeped in ancient power, its eyes glowing through the gloom.
"That's enough," the guardian's voice boomed, echoing through the hollow bark of the trees. "What a pathetic show of incompetence!"
The guardian turned his stern, piercing glare toward his second-in-command. "Elemental master Sigheart, you do it! I will find the Rave Masters—Haru, Glory, and Doryu—myself. And then..."
The guardian drew a sword that shimmered with dark, crackling energy, leveling the point directly at Phobos.
"...I'll come back to take you down, my King."
