The Annihilators: Legend of the Black Cloud & The Stygian Fate (Annihilators: Kuroi Kumo to Shukumei no Kōro)
The shadows inside the Limitless Fortress moved like living silk, shifting around the towering figure of Prince Phobos as he stared down into the endless, abyssal void below. Beneath them, the structure hummed with ancient, volatile energy—a sprawling maze of forgotten iron and restless spirits.
Beside him stood Kyogi Kagami, balancing on the edge of a narrow stone ledge with nonchalant ease. Kagami adjusted his rimless glasses, his gaze fixed on the storm gathering beyond the fortress windows.
"There comes a time in all of our lives when we must find the courage to seek out our destiny," Kagami murmured, his tone carrying a light, almost mocking lilt. "But sometimes, what you seek isn't always what you find. So tell me... which side do you intend to take in this little brawl?"
Phobos didn't turn around. His dark cape rustled in the unnatural wind draft. "You haven't made your position clear either."
Kagami chuckled softly, a sound that echoed against the damp obsidian walls. "I'll take whatever side I like best—as always."
"Perhaps I should say that sounds just like you," Phobos replied coldly, his eyes narrowing at the horizon.
"Even as we speak, a dark cloud is hanging over this Limitless Fortress," Kagami continued, gesturing toward the swirling black vortex above the central spires. "Who knows which path the future will take? Look... another man led by destiny has chosen to return."
Kagami turned his sharp eyes toward Phobos’s sisters, Will Vandom and Queen Elyon, who stood a few paces back near the massive archway. Will held the Heart of Kandrakar tightly in her palm, its pink light pulsing erratically against the fortress's dark oppressive air, while Elyon watched Kagami with a quiet, regal caution.
Kagami pointed toward the grand central altar, where three ancient, jagged blades rested—pulsing with a harsh, violet aura that seemed to drink the light around them.
"Behold a sight not seen in eons... the Annihilators," Kagami whispered, his smile broadening. "What will you use them for?"
Before Will or Elyon could speak, the fortress shuddered violently. Deep explosions rattled the foundation, followed by the terrifying, rhythmic advance of energy blasts outside the curtain wall.
Phobos stepped to the edge, looking down at the path carving through the fortress grounds below.
"These attacks aren't random," Prince Phobos told his sisters, his voice low and dangerous as he watched the destruction unfold. "They're on a straight line to the palace."
