Precursor: Heart of the Shattered Earth

The cold mud of the dark forest clung to the Tracker’s boots as he sprinted through the shadows, his chest heaving. The heavy footfalls of his pursuers echoed through the trees, closing in fast. Once, he was the terrifying hound of the Meridian elite; now, he was nothing more than game.
"Ah, Tracker... how the mighty have fallen," a raspy, venomous voice hissed from the canopy above. The wicked witch Narissa landed softly on a mossy root, her eyes glowing with dark magic. "Hunted by the rebels you once tracked... wouldn't you like to turn the clock back? It's time we punish those who made Prince Phobos's rise to power possible." She cackled, the sound echoing unnaturally. "To destroy a witch requires more than knights—it requires a prince."
Narissa extended a clawed hand, revealing a pulsating violet stone. "This jewel, a true gem from Weria’s crown, has been draining your power for months."
Before the Tracker could draw his blade, the shadows parted, exposing Prince Phobos, his eyes narrowed as he held an ancient, tattered tome. Behind him stood his sisters, Will Vandom and Queen Elyion, watching the chaos unfold.
"According to Kandrakar folklore, the Boogeyman steals children and drags them off to the Big World," Phobos said coldly, turning a brittle parchment page. "All we have to do is read ahead—but the pages are missing. He steals children to keep in his underworld forever."
"So, are you going to tell me what this is all about?" Will demanded, her arms crossed as spark-like energy crackled at her fingertips. "What have you done to the underworld of Slugterra, Dr. Blakk?"
Phobos ignored her, his fingers brushing against a hidden, ink-stained seal on the inside cover of the book. As he broke it, a faint projection of light flickered to life—a final message left behind.
Dear Phobos, the glowing script read, if you're reading this, it means I have fallen protecting Kandrakar. But it will be a one-way trip until you learn how to get back. Watch over your sisters, Queen Elyion and Princess Will Vandom.
Phobos closed the book with a heavy snap, looking out into the encroaching darkness. The hunt was far from over.
