W.I.T.C.H. & RAVE MASTER: The Movie – Destiny in Heatherfield Park!
The ancient gears of the cosmos groaned in the deep dark between realms, a heavy and inexorable shift that echoed across every world at once. "The wheels of fate have started to turn," a voice murmured from the ether, soft as dust yet heavy as a mountain. "There is a future that waits that no one can change, an inevitability which no one can avoid, and a misery that no one can beat. The wheel of destiny cannot be stopped. It is foretold, and so it will be."
Crackle. Static. Hiss.
A sharp burst of CB radio noise shattered the ominous quiet, cutting through the heavy air of the city park. The crackling voice of a frantic dispatcher bled through the speaker, barely intelligible over the interference: "CB noise breaking up... we got a call about a monster at City Hall—"
The signal died, drowned out by a low, hummed resonance that rattled the teeth in everyone's jaws.
Will Vandom clutched the glowing pink orb resting against her chest, her fingers trembling slightly. Standing beside her was Haru Glory, his massive broadsword strapped across his back, his eyes narrowed as he scanned the swirling mist gathering around their boots. Just behind them stood Prince Phobos, his imperial robes whispering against the grass, a mocking smile tugging at his lips despite the dire atmosphere, and Leif, the young King of Deltora, his hand resting firmly on the hilt of his blade.
Leif unfurled a ancient, blank parchment in his hands, staring down at it in frustration. "What good is a map that doesn't show anything?" he demanded, turning to Will.
"She said it was activated by the Heart of Kandrakar," Will replied, her voice firming up as she held the glowing amulet higher. The light pulsed in rhythm with her heartbeat, illuminating a shimmering tear in the fabric of space just ahead of them. "We're standing in the portal. It's right here in the park."
Phobos let out a low, cold chuckle, taking a step forward to gaze into the swirling vortex. Across the threshold, through the translucent veil of reality, several shadowy, towering silhouettes emerged from the haze.
Haru gripped the hilt of the Ten Commandments, stepping up beside Will. "They're just staring," Haru whispered, his jaw set. "What do they want?"
Before anyone could answer, the portal flared with a blinding, iridescent flash, pulling them violently forward through the tear in space.
When the light faded, the lush park was gone. The air grew cold, dry, and thick with the scent of ancient stone and dying vegetation. Towering canyon walls of jagged black rock stretched up into a bruised, purple sky. The terrain was desolate, littered with the bleached bones of long-forgotten beasts and forgotten relics of past eras.
From the shadow of a colossal, weather-worn monolith, a tall, cloaked figure stepped out into their path. A pair of glowing, spectral eyes burned from beneath the hood, fixated instantly on the shining Heart of Kandrakar and the polished metal of Leif's belt.
"Welcome to the Valley of the Lost," the figure rasped, its voice scraping like rusty iron over stone. "I am the Guardian of the Valley of the Lost." The figure raised a long, withered hand, pointing a sharp claw directly at the group. "You're here to steal my gem, aren't you?"
Haru shifted into a battle stance, his sword gleaming in the twilight, while Will raised her hand, the Heart pulsing with protective magic. The grand gearwork of destiny was moving, and there was no turning back.
