Louis and the True King: Implosion Lens 2099
The tavern in the heart of Meridian was suffocating, thick with the scent of cheap ale and desperation. Kyogi Kagimi sat in the dimmest corner, turning a worn map over in his hands—a map where a massive chunk of territory had simply been erased, replaced by blank parchment.
"When the Digimon Emperor took the throne from Phobos, a light went out over this land," an old farmer murmured at the bar, his voice trembling. "Our men are jailed. Our crops are stolen. We have no security, nothing left but our dreams."
Kyogi leaned forward, listening intently. The farmer lowered his voice further, leaning into his companion. "But we hear Phobos has a sister on the side... could this be true? The only other heir to the throne. They say she doesn't even know her true identity, or that she wasn't born on Earth. She's our only hope to save Phobos from his execution and stop the Digimon Emperor."
Kyogi smirked faintly. A lost princess. Classic. But if she was real, finding her before the Emperor’s Dark Rings got to her was the only shot they had.
The Unseen Travelers
Outside the tavern, slipping through the fog-drenched alleys of the kingdom, a highly unusual strike team was already on the move.
"I know what we have to do," Louis, the Thread Master, whispered, his fingers twitching as near-invisible threads of energy danced between his knuckles to scout the path ahead.
"I have full faith in you, Louis," Kazaki added, keeping his eyes on the shadows.
They were traveling through the oppressed kingdom of Meridian with an eclectic crew: Ban Mido, looking casually detached but entirely lethal; Davis of the DigiDestined, gripping his D-3 digivice with a fierce, stubborn determination; Will Vandom, her hand resting over the Heart of Kandrakar glowing faintly beneath her jacket; and Masaki Karsu, acting as the rear guard.
They moved like ghosts.
They leave no trace behind, do they? Kyogi thought from a distance, having tracked them to the edge of the city. This 'IL' must really be something.
Destination: The Limitless Fortress
Their destination wasn't inside the palace walls. It lay on the outermost rim of the world, a place birthed from concrete, steel, and forgotten history.
The Limitless Fortress.
As Kyogi followed the trail, he recalled the dark history of the structure. It was created at the turn of the last century but was abandoned mid-construction when the world's governments realized they had built a labyrinth they couldn't control. A bunch of drifters settled in under the radar. Before long, it turned into a lawless zone that not even the government wanted to mess with.
It had been taken off the maps entirely. Everyone pretended it didn't exist. But the rumors whispered of a massive, thriving underworld—a population of 10,000 to 20,000 souls living in the vertical slums and abandoned high-rises.
And somewhere deep inside that concrete leviathan, a girl who thought she was just an ordinary human was hiding from a tyrant who wore a blue jumpsuit and a cruel smile.
Into the Shadows
"Davis, keep Veemon quiet," Will whispered as they reached the rusted perimeter gates of the Fortress. The massive structure loomed above them like a dead god, blockaded by scrap metal and dark energy. "The Emperor has Control Spires near here. If we trigger them, we’re done."
"Got it," Davis muttered, though his fist clenched. "But we're going to take that brat down. No one locks up a whole kingdom and gets away with it."
Ban Mido stepped forward, his eyes flashing behind his purple sunglasses. "Relax, kid. If the lost princess is in there, my 'Get Backers' instincts will find her. Let's go see what this lawless zone has to offer."
With Louis threading their path through the blind spots of the Emperor's surveillance, the vanguard slipped into the Limitless Fortress. The rebellion to reclaim Meridian, free Phobos, and shatter the Digimon Emperor's reign had officially begun.
