Neo-Avalar: Awakening of the Rose Morning Star

The view-screen flickered violently, static eating away at the digitized face of their guide.
"...children, you have finally made it! With the spirits of the 10 Legendary Warriors, you must defeat Cherubimon and Ripto. Here they are, anticipating your arrival. The Digital... the Digital..."
The audio dissolved into a harsh, metallic screech. The signal started breaking up and dropped out entirely. The data stream connection between the Limitless Fortress and the Digital World was officially cut off.
"Great. Just perfect," Kyogi Kagimi exclaimed, throwing his hands up in frustration. He turned toward the bar, where Paul—the rugged owner of the Honky Tonk—was calmly wiping down a glass. "Maybe Kouichi knows what happened to the link?"
Paul didn't answer right away. He set the glass down, his eyes dark with a sudden, heavy seriousness. "If the Digital World is locked down, you boys are going to need more than just Digivices to break back in. You're going to need a miracle. Or them."
Kyogi blinked. "Them?"
"I once heard a long time ago, there was a team of expert thieves for hire," Paul said, his voice dropping to a low rumble. "They were absolute legends. They never got personally involved with their clients, and they operated without leaving a single casualty. They snatched whatever they were after—no matter how heavily guarded—and just disappeared into thin air. That's the story, anyway."
"An expert thief team?" Castor chimed in, leaning forward against the wooden counter, his eyes narrowing as he put the pieces together. "You think they can steal a pathway back into a broken data stream?"
"If anyone can bypass the firewalls of Cherubimon and the magical lockdowns of Ripto, it’s them," Paul nodded.
Before Kyogi could question how to even find such mythical figures, the heavy saloon doors of the Honky Tonk swung open. A shadow fell across the floorboards.
"We don't need a map to find them, Castor," a voice echoed from the doorway.
It was Kiba. In his hand, he held a fragment of pure, pulsing crystalline data that threw fracturing light across the dim room.
"The shard," Castor continued, his breath catching.
Kiba walked in, a confident smirk playing on his lips. "The connection to the Digital World didn't just crash. It was intercepted. And if we want the 10 Legendary Warriors to stand a chance against a corrupted Angel Digimon and a hot-headed Riptoc king, we're going to have to hire some legends of our own." He tossed the glowing shard into the air and caught it. "Pack your bags, boys. We're going to find the thieves."
