Metropolis Infinite: Awakening of the Five Sacred Dragons
The rain lashed against the cracked asphalt of the outer metropolis, reflecting the garish violet neon that spilled from the skyscrapers above. Underneath the looming shadow of a cybernetic dragon curled around the highest spire, five figures stood huddled within the alcove of a decaying shrine.
Will Vandom clutched the Heart of Kandrakar tightly to her chest, its inner light flickering violently against the oppressive dark fantasy setting of the city. Her voice was barely a whisper above the howling wind, but every word carried the weight of impending doom.
"In the year of the dragon, in a world beyond the realms, I awaited the birth of the purple dragon of whom the prophets foretold," Will continued, her eyes fixed on the pulsating sphere of magic in her hands. "But the Dark Master heard the prophecy as well. I should have hidden the eggs long before, but I thought we were ready. I thought we were safe... Oh, how I was wrong. Oh, five spirits that control this world, hear my prayers—the light that shines in the darkness, the wind which carries our souls to the heavens, and the fire that blows courage into the people's hearts..."
She turned her gaze slowly toward the group assembled around her.
Spyro low-growled, his purple scales gleaming under the rain, a small flame curling from his nostrils as he braced for the hunt. Beside him stood Prince Phobos, his eyes gleaming with cold ambition, yet bound to this unlikely alliance by the sheer threat of the Dark Master's forces overwhelming the city. Kyoji Kagami adjusted his dark shades, his sharp anime-styled silhouette unbothered by the downpour as his golden hair caught the neon glare of the alleyway signs.
Finally, Will looked at Yusei Fudo. The Signer sat astride his sleek crimson D-Wheel, his gloved hands gripping the handlebars. The glowing Mark of the Dragon flared bright red against his arm, pulsing in rhythm with the desperate plea Will had just uttered.
"If the prophecy is compromised," Yusei said, his voice steady amidst the storm as the engine of his D-Wheel hummed to life, "then we forge our own path. We don't just wait for the sacred dragons to awaken—we ride out and meet them."
Phobos chuckled darkly, folding his arms. "A brave sentiment, duelist. But the Dark Master's legion is already at the gates."
"Then let them come," Spyro said, stepping forward beside Yusei's machine, sparks flying from his horns. "We’ve got a city to save."
