The Purple Dragon Legend: Right to the Dream Realm

The air inside the Chamber of Kandrakar was heavy, thick with the lingering scent of ozone and burning magic.
Outside, the realm had descended into chaos. Narissa’s new minions—a terrifying legion known as the Knights of Destruction—had launched an unrelenting assault. They hunted, striking at families, sanctuaries, and stronghold after stronghold. With the Oracle temporarily struck blind by an ancient curse, the burden fell squarely on us. We were forced to act as the eyes of the Council, carrying out a desperate defense while the Guardians—still too young, too inexperienced—struggled to hold back the tide.
I felt the weight pressing against my chest. That desperate desire to do anything to protect those we loved, no matter how treasonous or forbidden the act might be... that was the crack in the armor of my soul.
"Shouldn't you be guiding the Lightning Emperor?"
The voice belonged to Kyogi Kagimi, quiet but sharp. He leaned against a marble pillar, his eyes fixed on Prince Phobos, who stood near the edge of the dais, arms folded behind his back.
"He decided for himself the path he would follow from here on out," Phobos replied smoothly, not even turning around.
Kyogi let out a dry, quiet laugh. "How unusual. You usually insist everything depends on fate."
Before Phobos could answer, the heavy double doors burst open. Radiant white light spilled into the chamber, blindingly intense. Genji—the Lightning Emperor himself—walked in, sparks of golden electricity crackling along his shoulders. Beside him stepped Masaki Karsu, his hand resting tightly on the hilt of his weapon, and Spyro the Dragon, whose scales gleamed beneath the harsh illumination as he kept a low, vigilant posture.
They had arrived at the Council’s heart, but they were not alone.
Shadows coalesced at the edge of the light, twisting until a shrouded figure emerged from the glare, stepping into the hall behind them with uncanny ease.
"People confused by the light are relying too much on their eyes," the mysterious enemy rasped, his voice echoing through the vast chamber like grinding stone. "I'm watching your aura instead."
Masaki immediately pivoted, shifting into a defensive stance alongside Spyro, Kyogi, and Phobos. "If you can see our auras, then you know you're surrounded."
The enemy smiled beneath his cowl, the darkness around him absorbing the golden lightning Genji radiated.
"Even so," the figure whispered, stepping forward as dark energy flared around his fists, "you can't completely dodge the light."
