The Fifth Vow: Wrong Turn in Neo-Cannibal Woods

The canopy of the Neo-Cannibal Woods loomed like jagged teeth against a star-choked, midnight sky. Deep within the ancient, twisted thicket, the air hummed with an unsettling, static charge.
Prince Phobos paced before the flickering embers of a dying campfire, his long silver hair catching the eerie light. He turned sharply to the mismatched band of allies gathered around him.
"I don't understand," Phobos hissed, his voice tight with a mixture of rage and masked desperation. "Queen Elyon is gone. She was captured by a Sorceress hiding in our midst."
Leif of Deltora, his hand instinctively resting on the hilt of his sword, stepped forward. Beside him, Spyro the Dragon adjusted his stance, small puffs of smoke curling from his nostrils as his violet scales mirrored the dark forest. Further back in the shadows stood Masaki Karsu and Kyogi Kagimi, their expressions guarded, sensing the underlying malice of the woods.
"And what does her disappearance have to do with the Legend of the Four Dragons?" Leif demanded, his keen eyes locking onto the prince.
Phobos bared his teeth, a grim, humorless smile crossing his face. "Everything. It is the fifth element—lightning. The power of life itself. The Sorceress needs it to tear open the fabric of the realms."
Suddenly, Phobos gasped, stumbling backward against a gnarled root. Arcane, violet veins flared to life across his skin. He gripped his head, his voice dropping to a panicked, guttural whisper as he looked toward Genji, the Lightning Emperor, who watched from the edge of the clearing. "At this rate... I'll lose myself completely. I can't stop myself."
Genji narrowed his eyes, the electricity crackling along his armor intensifying. He knew the volatile nature of the power Phobos was trying to suppress, but there was a deeper, older magic binding them all to this fate.
Leif stepped between them, drawing himself up to his full height as King of Deltora. The gravity of an ancient compact weighed heavily on his shoulders. He spoke the words of the sacred oath, his voice echoing through the silent, predatory forest:
"We, the people of Torra, pledge our undying allegiance to Odin, King of Deltora, and the Royal bloodline. If this vow is ever broken, may the great stone of fire—the Heart of Kandrakar—split and decay, and may our people be swept away forever to live in dishonor."
As the final words left Leif's lips, a distant rumble shook the earth. The sky above the Neo-Cannibal Woods split open, not with rain, but with a blinding, ethereal amethyst lightning. The fifth element had awakened, and a wrong turn in these woods was about to cost them everything.
