Guardians of Vale Stone: The Celestial Dream of Pegasus🦄⚜🌕
Cut the crap, Karasu," Ikki spat, Kagerasmaru's massive, malformed arms flexing behind him. "Urameshi's energy is fluctuating. It has been ever since he crawled back from the dead after fighting Sensui. It’s like a cracked furnace—plenty of heat, but leaking. If he won't choose a side, we'll harvest what's left of that demon core before it burns itself out."
Yusuke finally pushed himself off the ledge, dropping his hands into his pockets. A faint, unstable flicker of golden-demon energy lapped at his knuckles, sputtering like a dying flame before snapping back into his skin. His body ached, a deep, marrow-deep lethargy that had dogged him for weeks, but a familiar, stubborn grin broke across his face anyway.
"Harvest? Man, everyone's an expert on my health lately," Yusuke muttered, his eyes narrowing as he faced down the King of the Beasts. "My body might feel like garbage right now, but I've still got more than enough juice to teach a couple of gatecrashers some manners. You want to find out which side I'm on? Come and make me choose."
Heavy, deliberate footsteps echoed from the high archway above the precipice, breaking the standoff. Two figures descended the stone steps, entirely out of place in the grim architecture of the fortress.
"If you're looking for a fight, you're going to have to go through us too!"
Ash Ketchum stepped forward, his cap pulled low, adjusting the gloves on his hands. Pikachu scrambled up onto his shoulder, cheeks sparking with fierce, yellow electricity that cut through the dim, demonic gloom.
Behind him walked Paul, his hands shoved deep into his pockets, his piercing purple eyes scanning the demon warlords with cold, calculated indifference. He didn't look intimidated by Akira's massive size or Ikki’s grotesque form; if anything, he looked thoroughly annoyed by their lack of discipline.
"Hmph. Pathetic," Paul said, his voice dripping with disdain as he looked at Ikki and Akira. "You're supposed to be rulers, and yet you're wasting time picking on someone whose energy is clearly unstable. It's an inefficient waste of resources."
"Hey! Who are you calling unstable?!" Yusuke barked, though a smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth. "And who invited the kids to the apocalypse?"
Before anyone could strike, a strange, celestial hum vibrated through the very stones of the fortress. Glowing fragments of ancient, starlit stone embedded in the high walls began to pulse with a silver, lunar light, casting a protective barrier between the two factions. The energy felt entirely separate from the chaotic demon world below—it was pure, ancient, and deeply connected to a history long forgotten.
Kyogi Kagimi looked up at the glowing stones, his eyes narrowing as he recognized the ancient power. He turned back toward the group, his voice grave.
"These meteorites have been considered guardians here in the Limitless Fortress since ancient times," Kagimi explained, the silver light reflecting in his eyes. "They react to threats against this sanctuary. If you unleash your power here, Akira, you won't just be fighting the Spirit Detective—you'll be fighting the legacy of this fortress itself."
Ash grinned, tapping a Poké Ball at his waist as the ancient lunar energy resonated with his own burning spirit. "Hear that? We've got the whole place on our side! So if you want to steal Yusuke's power, you're going to have to win a real battle first!"
