Shattered Mirrors:-Orichalcos and Flow Of The Tide of Mystic Island
The ambient temperature in the cavernous, obsidian chamber of Neo-Domino’s subterranean sector was dropping fast. Mist—thick, purple, and smelling faintly of ozone and rotting miasma—pooled around the polished leather boots of Seto Kaiba.
Kaiba didn’t flinch. He merely adjusted the collar of his pristine white trench coat and looked at his duel disk, its glowing blue interface cutting through the gloom.
"I don't care what kind of holographic parlor trick this is," Kaiba snapped, his voice echoing off the stone walls. "You're trespassing on KaibaCorp property. Identify yourself, or my security team will have you dragged out in pieces."
From the shadows, a massive, fur-lined white mokomoko shifted. Sesshomaru stepped forward, his amber eyes reflecting absolute disdain. His long silver hair caught the dim light, and the crescent moon on his forehead seemed to gleam with lethal intent.
"Human," Sesshomaru said, his voice a low, dangerous purr. "Your metal toys mean nothing to me. You speak of property, yet you stand in the wake of a distortion that defies the natural order. If you value your life, move."
"A distortion? Please," Kaiba scoffed, typing a rapid sequence into his wrist computer. "It's a localized electromagnetic anomaly. And I don't take orders from cosplayers."
The Convergence
Between them sat a massive stone altar, cracked down the middle. Hovering just above it was a strange, pulsating rift. It wasn't entirely spiritual, nor was it entirely digital; it was a violent tear in reality, pulling pieces of different worlds into a singular, unstable nexus.
"I wouldn't step any closer if I were you, Kaiba."
Kaiba glanced to his left. Stepping out from a crumbling archway was Yugi Muto. The Millennium Puzzle hung securely around his neck, but his expression was fierce, his posture commanding—the Pharaoh was at the helm.
"Yugi," Kaiba narrowed his eyes. "I might have known you'd be lurking around this nonsense."
"It's not nonsense," Yugi replied gravely. "The Balance of Souls is screaming. Something—or someone—is deliberately tethering our worlds together to feed on the chaos."
"How touching. The little pharaoh understands."
A soft, mocking chuckle drifted from the ceiling. Drifting down on a cloud of dark, insectoid Saimyosho wasps was Naraku. He wore his baboon pelt loosely over his shoulders, a wicked, triumphant smirk playing on his lips. In his hand, a shard of the Shikon Jewel glowed with a corrupt, purple light, perfectly synced with the rift.
"Naraku," Sesshomaru muttered, his hand instantly dropping to the hilt of Bakusaiga. "You dare show your face before me?"
"Calm yourself, Lord Sesshomaru," Naraku mocked, floating just out of arm's reach. "I merely found a new wellspring of power. This world... it possesses a digital 'net' of human thoughts, desires, and hatred. Combined with the Jewel, I can rewrite the laws of life and death across all realities."
The Intervention
"Yeah, well, bad news for you, pal. The Honey Badger is closed for business."
A dark figure dropped from the ceiling, landing gracefully between Naraku and the altar. It was Ban Mido—no, it was Kazuki Fuuchoin—no, the boy wore a dark jacket and a smirk that could rival Kaiba's. It was Ginji Amano? No.
The man straightened up, pushing his glasses up his nose. It was Kagami Kyouji from the Limitless Fortress. The "Resident of the Mirror."
"Who the hell are you?" Kaiba demanded, losing patience.
"Just an observer," Kagami said, his tone dripping with polite malice. He held up a shard of broken mirror, turning it so it caught Naraku’s reflection. "Though, I must say, this 'Naraku' gentleman has a terribly fragmented soul. It’s practically begging to be shattered. The Virtual Hourglass of the Limitless Fortress doesn't appreciate your messy interference, demon."
"A mortal with glass toys," Naraku sneered. With a wave of his hand, a torrent of miasma rushed toward Kagami.
Kagami didn't move. He simply tilted his mirror. The miasma hit an invisible, reflective wall and bounced straight backward, forcing Naraku to shield himself as his own acid burned through his baboon pelt.
"What?!" Naraku hissed.
"Everything in this room is just a reflection of data and spirit," Kagami smiled subtly. "And I control the mirror."
The Clash of Wills
"Enough of this farce!" Kaiba shouted. He slammed a card onto his duel disk. "I don't care if you're a demon, a mirror-man, or a ghost. I crush anyone who stands in my way! Blue-Eyes White Dragon, summon!"
With a shattering roar of digitized light, a massive, radiant dragon materialized in the cavern, its wings brushing the ceiling.
Sesshomaru’s eyes narrowed. "A beast of pure energy? Impudent human."
Sesshomaru drew Bakusaiga. The blade crackled with green, destructive lightning. He leaped into the air, aiming a strike not at Kaiba, but at the dragon.
"Kaiba, wait!" Yugi shouted, drawing a card from his deck. "We have to work together! Dark Magician!"
The ultimate wizard appeared in a flash of purple light, instantly raising his staff to cast a barrier, intercepting Sesshomaru’s blade. The collision of demonic energy and ancient magic sent a shockwave through the cavern, cracking the floor.
"A magician?" Kagami mused, watching the chaos unfold. He stepped closer to Naraku, his mirrors multiplying around him like a kaleidoscope. "While you are all distracted, I think I'll take that jewel shard. It would make an excellent paperweight in Babylon City."
"Try it, mirror-walker!" Naraku roared. The walls of the cavern began to sprout fleshy, demonic tendrils, absorbing the digital infrastructure of Neo-Domino City that Kaiba had built.
"You dare defile my network?!" Kaiba’s face contorted with rage. "Blue-Eyes! Burst Stream of Destruction!"
"Bakusaiga!" Sesshomaru unleashed a wave of decomposing energy.
"Dark Magic Attack!" Yugi commanded.
The Shattered Mirror
The three massive attacks collided not with each other, but directly on Naraku’s defensive barrier, which Kagami had subtly altered using his mirrors to reflect the full force of the attacks inward.
The combined might of Kaiba's technology, Yugi's magic, Sesshomaru's demonic power, and Kagami's illusions was too much for Naraku to contain. The barrier shattered. The Shikon shard in Naraku's hand cracked, violently destabilizing the rift.
"This isn't over!" Naraku snarled as the collapsing rift began to suck him backward. "The malice of this world will eventually find me again!" With a vortex of purple light, Naraku was pulled back into his own era, the rift sealing violently behind him.
The cavern fell dead silent. The holographic dragons and magicians faded away.
Kagami adjusted his glasses, looking at his cracked mirror shard. "My, my. What a fragile reality. I suppose my work here is done." In a blink, his form blurred and shattered like glass, leaving no trace behind.
Sesshomaru sheathed Bakusaiga, turning his back to the humans. "The foul stench is gone. See to it that your worlds remain separated, wizards." In a flash of light, he transformed into a magnificent white orb of energy, rocketing out of the cavern's fissure.
Kaiba stood alone with Yugi in the quiet ruins. He stared at his blank duel disk, then shut it off with a sharp snap.
"This changes nothing, Yugi," Kaiba said, turning to walk toward the exit, his coat billowing behind him. "Next time we meet, it will be at the tournament. And I won't need a demon to test your compliance."
Yugi watched him go, a small, tired smile crossing his face as the Millennium Puzzle settled against his chest. "Until then, Kaiba."
