Key Link- Rise of the Dark Spirit Beast Intro ☣
The fabric of the cosmos did not just tear; it dissolved.
Where the boundaries of realities used to be, there was now only a swirling, violet void—the Space-Time Rift. Deep within its fractured core, two entities that never should have existed in the same continuity had crossed paths. The sheer paradox of their meeting had acted like an existential virus, collapsing timelines, universes, and laws of nature into a singular, broken dimension.
Standing on a floating fragment of what used to be a bustling metropolis, a disparate group of survivors looked out into the nothingness.
"Two entities that never should have met cross paths in the space-time rift, and as a result, all has collapsed..." Kyogi Kagimi murmured, his voice trembling as he stared into the abyss. He turned toward the others, his eyes wide with a mix of terror and confusion. "What could be the true meaning of this horrible nightmare?"
Ash Ketchum, clutching a visibly exhausted Pikachu, could only stare at the ground, the weight of a thousand lost worlds pressing down on his shoulders. Beside him, Takuya Kanbara gripped his D-Tector tightly, its screen dead and dark. The digital world, the human world—both were gone.
"So answer me now, Masaki!" Icky, the fierce leader of the Kagerasmaru, shouted, his blade drawn but trembling. He pointed the weapon directly at Masaki Karsu, who stood at the edge of the floating precipice, looking remarkably calm given the literal end of reality.
"It all depends on your answer!" Akira, the King of Beasts, roared, stepping up beside Icky. His golden mane bristled with feral energy, his predatory eyes locked onto Masaki. "So it's true? You're going to leave? Was I a fool, Masaki? Was I a fool to trust you?!"
Masaki didn't flinch. He didn't even turn around.
"What is going on inside the Sleeping Forest?" Takuya demanded, stepping forward, trying to piece together the fragments of information they had left. "Everything fell apart after the Key Link Incident. Someone betrayed the others and took down Akira."
"That means Genesis was created to destroy the Sleeping Forest," Kyogi realized aloud, the horrific puzzle finally clicking into place. The collapse wasn't an accident. It was a calculated execution. The two entities meeting in the rift wasn't a coincidence; they were guided there.
Masaki finally turned, a shadow of a sorrowful smile on his face. He looked at the ragtag group of heroes from across the multiverse.
"If you want the truth," Masaki said, his voice echoing in the dead quiet of the rift, "search for the spirit. Search for Koji Minamoto. Once you have found it, everything will become clear."
Takuya gasped at the mention of his old comrade's name, but before he could ask how Koji was connected to the Key Link Incident, Masaki stepped backward, letting himself fall into the violet void.
"I wish I knew what 'everything' was," Ash whispered to the empty air, watching the man disappear into the collapse.
They were alive, but the multiverse was dead. And their only compass left was the ghost of a spirit lost somewhere in the wreckage of time.
