Chrono-Crisis: Descent into Wonderland – The Whispering Secrets of Frog Creek Woods

The tapping was soft at first, like a fingernail clicking against glass.
In the depths of his sleep, Icky—a wizard-in-training from the distant realm of Kagerasmaru—dreamed of a pristine white bird. It perched on his windowsill, its beak striking the pane in a rhythmic, urgent cadence. Tap. Tap. Tap.
"For Merlin's sake, Icky! Wake up!"
The dream shattered. Icky bolted upright, blinking away the sleep as Akira shook his shoulder. Akira’s eyes were wide, alive with an intensity that immediately banished any lingering drowsiness. "They're here," Akira whispered, his voice cutting through the quiet room.
There was no time for questions. The two heroes threw on their gear and raced out into the cool, damp air of the early morning, heading straight for the Frog Creek woods. The trees blurred past them until they reached the ancient, towering oak. High in its branches sat the Magic Tree House, humming with a faint, iridescent glow.
Merlin was waiting. The legendary sorcerer stood by the window, his robes swirling like smoke. With a grim nod, he raised his staff, ready to send them through the portal to Camelot. But they weren't the only ones answering the call of destiny today.
As the air began to shimmer and warp with portal magic, a heavy, suffocating pressure dropped over the woods.
Step for step, the shadows parted to reveal two towering figures who had also been summoned across time and space.
Akira, the King of Beasts, stepped forward first. His feral eyes locked onto Jack, the resident hero of Frog Creek, who was standing near the spellbooks looking thoroughly overwhelmed. Akira let out a low, rumbling growl of pure disdain.
"You have changed," Akira rumbled, his voice like grinding stones. "If animals don't evolve, they die out. But while my fangs have been growing stronger, it looks like you've let yours dull." He sneered, looking Jack up and down in absolute disgust. "Look at you, neglecting your training."
"Hey, wait a minute—" Jack started, his hand flying to his glasses.
"Silence!"
The bark of the treehouse seemed to rattle. Vegeta, the Prince of All Saiyans, stepped into the light of the portal, his arms crossed tightly over his chest armor. His scowl was deep enough to cut glass, and his aura flared with a dangerous, golden sparks.
"A warrior like Dabura should be dead by now!" Vegeta shouted, his eyes flashing with absolute fury as he glared at the gathering heroes. "Instead, you're sitting here scratching your heads when the job should already be done! If you weaklings can't handle a simple execution, step aside before I blast this entire kingdom into dust!"
The portal behind Merlin roared to life, a swirling vortex of blue and gold, casting harsh light over the fractured team. Camelot was in peril, but before they could even face the darkness waiting for them, they had to survive each other.
